1210 Tone arm height adjust problem

Hi all,

I have a pair of 2nd hand 1210's (MkII's) which I have been using for
nearly a year without problem. I have just started reading around on
the best way to set up the decks and it has led me to discover that the
tone arm height adjustment is VERY stiff on one of the decks. I have
followed a guide and disassembled my 1210 and have removed the tone-arm
assembly. I can now turn the dial at the base of the assembly to adjust
the height (before it was completely stuck) but it is very stiff and it
doesn't seem to drop as low as the one on my other deck. Whats more it
looks as though the assembly is slighlty higher on one side than the
other, as if the screw which controls the height is cross-threaded.

Does anyone know if it is possible to completely "unscrew" the height
adjustment assembly so that I can re-screw it, hopefully in the correct
groove?

I hope all of that makes sense!!!

Cheers,

Brammers
