A laptop?

I went to this get to together once and there was the DJ standing over a laptop, at one point he was taking request from the patrons and by the time he is finished talking to them, the music is already live. He had like thousands of songs. He did some awesome mixes too.

I never thought of it that way I guess. You would certainly speed up requests, by simply being able to search for them on the laptop instead of going through your library. You could carry more to each venue, and not have the same storage issues.

Maybe I have been a little harsh about this.

DJ software updates and new, innovative MIDI controllers. However, some of the most pivotal gear for a laptop DJ is also most often overlooked. Laptop stands can be critical components to a DJ’s setup, as you may also be using them to hold your MIDI controllers or CDJs, as well. Each DJ’s individual needs will determine the stand thats best for you but here are a few of the most critical areas:
Weight – How much weight will this add to your bag?
Adjustability – can the stand accommodate a range of positions and configurations?
Set-up – Is the stand easy to set up and configure?
Stability – perhaps the number-one factor for controllerists, is the stand sturdy enough for button mashing.
