I mainly use Acid Pro 4 to do my mixes. I've gotten used to it and find it
pretty easy to use, but i think it lacks features and options. Whats a
better program thats setup like acid? Price really isnt a concern,
usability is... i need it to be pretty easy to work with while still being
stable and packed with options.

It does - it's a basic loop editor but can yield first class results.
It is just about the easiest product to use on the market. To spice things
up try processing chunks and loops in an external editor like soundforge
and dropping them into acid - tricks like reversing the vocal & beats,
phasing, flanging and delay/echo. (Tip here to find the delay time in
miliseconds to give you that on the beat echo divide 60000 by the bpm).
A Handful of other plugins always make the grade - antares autotune (as
used on Cher's believe and a whole host of others - often mistakenly
though of as being a vocoder), Waves Maxbass - used sparingly and a good
compressor (wavehammer is nice and severe and can give you that benny
benassi sound). Once processed drop them back into acid - it's the easy
route.

Ive posted a response to this in alt.mobile-dj's that runs through the
general process for remixing and whilst it's not 'the law according to me'
it's the general way things are done. Others will shout on about Cubase
(which I hate as it just lacks the user friendliness of sonar) but it's
quite a big learning step moving up from acid to the pro stuff. takes
time, effort but hell it's fun :-)
