Cleaning Instructions for Pioneer CDJ-1000

Hello,

After a party the wheel on one of my Pioneer CDJ-1000's is pretty
sticky. It's extremely frustrating trying to mix w/ it. I was
wondering if anybody had some instructions (perhaps a url or something)
on how to clean the track wheel.

I've opened it up and looked myself...but i was too scared to do
anything more.

If not, does anybody have an idea of what it will cost to get it
serviced?

thanks,
DJ GeaL

Had a similar thing happened to me with mine, poured half a pint of
hot sweet tea into one of them; mad panic ststions for a while and I
had to use the pin to eject the Cds. BUT IT KEPT ON PLAYING! And
within half-an-hour was running as before, they run so hot that it had
dried itself out.

The jog-wheel was a little scratcht for a few weeks (presumably sugar
underneath it) but the scratchiness went in the end and I'm still
using it un-opened.

Yep, it's scary the amount of detail they put into getting that
suspension just right innit?

I'd ring Pioneer and ask them if I were you.

And if it wasn't your fault, I'd tell the people hosting the party to
get ready for a bill; my guestimate would be £80-100 plus any
necessary parts.

cheers
