<<<<<<<<<< Dancetech.com - new stuff online - Music PC-build video >>>>>>>>>>
hello - just an update to say we've added a full-on 'BUDGET MUSIC PC BUILD
VIDEO' article if anyones thinking of building a music PC and is a beginner. The video IS big of course, devided into episodes, and will require broadband access to d/load, however, for the noob it covers absolutely everything for building a powerful but cheap budget Athlon music PC - you can watch the whole thing as it happens from start to finish, and the article covers also the full XP setup, inc' drive partitioning, creating audio drives, service-pack 1a setup, dx9 addition, all critical drivers & patches, xp tweaks for music pc, services walkthru and tweaking, etc etc. the Build is for a cheap budget athlon 2400, using a Gigabyte KT600 chipset motherboard which can facilitate an AMD chip up to just beyond 3ghz for upgrading in future, but it keep costs low for the initial build (£310 UKP for the whole lot, ex screen) - The build package includes dual screen graphics card & cd-burner and all parts are commonly available now at any local PC fair. and NO....we are not selling pc parts, this is purely an article for noobie help not to promote sales of something! ![]() COMING SOON - COMING SOON we are finaly updating the music-section of the dancetech site (www.7161.com) - we split off the music section at Christmas time 2003 to open up the server facility for other music users who didn't make dance-music, and so www.7161.com was born with genre's for dance AND rock music/bands to upload - However, we are updating the site so that users can manage their free server space direct rather than restricting uploads to a max filesize and max track-count. This was a leftover of the old music section which was started back when few people outside the USA had cable or broadband - Now broadband is more prevelent, we are updating the site to allow larger hi-fi file uploads. This should be implemented within a few weeks from today after which users can upload 128k or whatever bitrate 'hi-fi' files and manage their available space which the system will measure each time they check-in to their admin and present them with their remaining available file-space. With this new method, you can choose to upload many smaller files, or many files of mebbe 32kb or 56kb etc, or if you prefer, you can upload only 128k files but of course you'll be able to add less tracks in total if file-sizes are bigger. We are also adding a command-line encoder to the server so that ALL uploaded 'hi-fi' mp3 files will be automaticaly encoded by the server after upload to create a 24k mono lo-fi 'demo' version for modem users to checkout prior to d/loading hi-fi versions if they cannot stream 128k files. This will kick in within a few weeks, I'll pop back and post a note when it's up and running and has been 'Mac tested' too - lol For those who don't know, 7161 offers free webspace with an admin section for managing original music Tracks/Mixes online for bands/artists/deejays - included in the package: 1. Free space for tracks (about 100mb + space for images & banners etc) 2. You can create online 'Virtual CD Albums' with cover-art, liner notes, and add tracks from your uploaded 'Track-pool' to created 'albums', You can then stack the play order independently for your uploaded track-lists AND albums, and artist-pages include links for 'Stream all at once' play for created albums and track-lists. 3. FREE user 'homepages' with a unique user web-address which open 100% independently of the main 7161 site - you can create these via your admin area if you wish too - Homepages show: All added Tracks/Mixes, created 'CD Albums', Artist/band details text & contacts, a band/artist image/logo, a full online gig diary to show your forthcoming gigs and shows, a visitors feedback form (so people can mail you if you wish your email to remain hidden which is an admin option), you can also add a banner image or FLASH banner FREE to your homepage- all this is via an automated admin and can be changed anytime, so you can upload new tracks, add new gigs, change your tecxts and banner image/Flash or re-set it back to zero etc - All you need to do is keep your details and tracks and gigs up to date in your admin area, and all this loads to your 'Homepage' for display when someone visits your homepage There is NO main site logo on band/artist/deejay created 'Hompages' for the parent 7161 site, there is NO banner-ad's, pop-ups, or any advertising at all and no spyware etc - 100% FREE homepages for music-makers and Deejays with no crappy advertising AT ALL!! 4. Join a large community of thousands of music makers As I say - this is being updated as soon as the lo-fi automated encoder is fixed in place and tested, after which you can upload larger hi-fi files and decide how to manage your space in terms of how many tracks you add to the given free webspace. more news/updates coming soon. Thankyou for your time. -- Team Dancetech London -------------------------------------- www.dancetech.com www.7161.com -------------------------------------- FREE music-space & artist/band homepages for all -------------------------------------- http://www.dancetech.com/aa_dt_new/s..._dancetech.cfm ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- |
