With classic songs such as "The Message" Grandmaster Flash helped to revolutionize rap as we know it today. Besides being one of the most influential rappers of the 80's, his music is still being sampled by others to this day. Although I am not familiar with all of his material, what I have heard is amazing. Many of the beats in songs sound fresh to this day, and Grandmaster Flash's lyrics were honest in a way few other rappers can even come close.

Lets give some props to Debbie Harry for getting his name out there. Without her, I dont think he would have made a name for himself.
