If you had to think about it, who would you say is the most influential rapper of all time?

Personally, I am not entirely sure.

At the very least, this should start some interesting discussions ehh? :)

So, get discussing already! :spimpin:

For me , it has to be a toss between Tupac and Eminem. I am aware that Tupac is the highest selling rapper ever , but at times I like Eminem more than Tupac. If he stays the course , I am sure one day eminem will be as popular as 2pac. For now I will vote for Tupac.

Tupac was before E, so it would have to go to Tupac for being around longer, and influencing more people, IMO. Also, even before E there were people like Dre, Run D.M.C., Eazy E, A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop, Cube and even the Beastie Boys. That is a tough question for sure!

I would have to say Run DMC is one of the most influencial rap groups of all time. Unfortunately by time I saw them in concert at college they had infalted egos and showed up stoned and late. However its hard to argue that they weren't on the leading edge of rap throughout a long period of time.

People can't forget Eric B&Rakim, they were a HUGE influence on many rappers to come.

Speaking of Rakim, he influenced more people with his rhymes than almost ANYONE in existence. His rhyme-style has been ripped off by others countless times.

It's sure a hard one to answer. I like both tupac and eminem , but they won't be my first choice. They aren't the only ones who influenced generations of rappers. I think Run DMC has been as good as them if not better.

Tupac was pretty influential, but I couldn't see a real influence on other rappers from Eminem. He may have been an influence on some white rappers, in that he made it OK for there to be more white rappers. Other than that...not really.

Well, I have to say its Eminem, I agree with DarkPsyFanatic, he bridged the gap between the several races in the rap scene. And inspired the white rappers to pursue their dreams.I also wanna add Dr. Dre, Tupac, the Beastie Boys and Snoop.
