Does anyone remember what the first Rap album they purchased was, and do you remember why you bought it?

I think my first album was Fresh Prince& Jazzy Jeff - Homebase back around 1991 or so, on a CASSETTE none the less!

Mine was also on a cassette, but it was Slick Rick, whichever album had Mona Lisa in it. I remember some of my family got me other music, they would just get whatever was on sale, but those I wont count, or mention. :D

The first Rap album that I bought was from eminem , though it was not the first rap that I heard . I had heard many artists before him , just that I never felt like purchasing any albums of rappers till I heard him. Rap was more like on-off stuff for me . His raps made me aware that I could love some raps at any time , no matter what mood I am in.

Coolio-It Takes a Theif. Still have that tape somewhere. I fell in love when I heard Gansta's paradise on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack. But when I went to buy the album they were out so I bought his other album to listen to until they got in Gansta's Paradise. It was my favorite angry music tape for years.
