Well I'm quite an avid anime and gaming OST collector, and the majority of my friends are into those two things, so I'm going to try and hold a house party with a bunch of OSTs / tunes made by many artists from popular games. Right now I have some tracks made by / from:

Composer | Various (but not all) Games
Akira Yamaoka (Famous for Silent Hill)
Shoji Meguro (Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 album)
The Black Mages (Final Fantasy recreations)
Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy series)
Koichi Sugiyama (Dragonquest series)
Jeehun Hwang (Mech Warrior 2, Apocalypse, Three Kingdoms)
Yuzo Koshiro (Ys series Dragon Slayer IV, Shinobi, Shinobi II, Sonic the Hedgehog)
Hirokazu Tanaka (Metroid series, Earthbound, Duck Hunt, Pokemon Colosseum)

Think that's a good lineup?

Boy,you got a good list there.Hope you have some extra food if I bring my friends to your party, lol.Seriously though, nice selections.Just make sure you have the right Dj doing the mashups.During my first, I was very nervous and put in a lot of hours to figure out exactly what kind of mix would the guests like and I still messed up.:( For the next one I had a guy beside me who could keep it going if I screwed up again, lol.I learnt a lot from him.

Dude I'm a gamer and that's a huge list you've got there!!

All you need in my opinion really is Nobuo Uematsu, Koichi Sugiyama, and Hirokazu Tanaka - just because they've done so many games.

Are you DJing yourself or are you having someone with you?

Penguin: I'm hoping it'll go well - it'll be a party after mid-terms, which are after next week (not this week coming up, the next one October 15th - 19th) so I might be able to find some more.

Breakout: Yeah that's what I was thinking too - Uematsu and Sugiyama - even them without Tanaka. But the others would easily find out. They have (and have beaten) more Final Fantasy's than I have. Some have and beaten Dragon Quests - I own none yet :(. (Therefore I don't really know what kind of games Sugiyama is involved with - other than Square-Enix. That's why I kept him in my line-up. Oh yeah, and the fact that he's famous for those too haha.

The Black Mages are in there too because they made "remakes" of numerous Final Fantasy tunes and a few of their own tunes too. I just wish I could get their disks. They sound fantastic.

I dunno I always found when partying with the gamer crowds they would listen to just about anything so long as there was a game console and plenty of snacks (where do they put it all?). That lists looks pretty extensive to me, As long as you have enough to more than cover the length of time you'll be partying you'll be great. You planning on having a game system set up too or just music and snacks?

I went to a party like the one you are planning to throw. It was nostalgic for me, because it reminds me of the old games I used to play. Nice list.

I just downloaded (and actually am also downloading) a another half GB worth of stuff...if not more. I'll be up for a while at least. Man next weekend is going to be great. Hopefully. Found this one site with a whole bunch of Uematsu's past and present stuff.
