I was trying to think of some good theme songs from TV shows and could only come up with a few. I got all the ones from CSI, but not much else. Can anyone give me the names of some theme songs from shows?

Well, I'm a fan of Smallville and I really like the chorus of the theme song which is "somebody save me." I just like the chorus but the verses before the chorus, I don't really listen to it.

Rescue Me - Denis Leary, the song is C'mon, C'mon by the band The Von Bondies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Von_Bondies), love the song, have to find a copy of it somewhere.

I also found a site (http://torchwood.groups.vox.com/library/post/6a00cd97849730f9cc00cd971fbfd44cd5.html) that has some Doctor Who recordings of theme songs, the show has been off and on for many years now, but you might want to check them out.

I also watch House and read that, that theme song is the background to a Massive Attack song, but I cant find anything on it.

Do you think the artist is always paid royalties for theme show songs? I always wondered if that was the case or not, even if it was just a sample and not the full song.

I like both the ones for Miami and also LA Ink. Funky Kinkston / Toots & the Maytals (feats Bootsy Collins and The Roots) does Miami, but I cant find out who sings the song for LA, and I only know part of the lyrics.

There is no theme song for Heroes but I hope they will make one someday. Do the theme songs of these TV shows composed after or before the show is completed?

I always liked anything from Benny Hill. Maybe I am showing my age here, but all the jingles really got me into a happy mood!

CSI's current theme song used in the United States since inception in 2000, is "Who Are You", written by Pete Townshend with vocals by Roger Daltrey of The Who[10] as the title track of their 1978 album. The show's spinoffs also use The Who songs as their theme songs: "Won't Get Fooled Again" for CSI: Miami and "Baba O'Riley" for CSI: NY, both recorded by The Who in 1971 for their album Who's Next. from the wikipedia article CSI

House's themesong is listed as Teardrop by Massive Attack.

I am also a fan of themes from older shows such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents (Funeral March of a Marionette-Charles Gounod), The Beverly Hillbillies (The Ballad of Jed Clampett-Flatt & Scruggs), The Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ol' Boys-Waylon Jennings), Laverne and Shirley (Making Our Dreams Come True-Cyndi Grecco), and Veronica Mars (We Used To Be Friends-The Dandy Warhols). Old school (except Veronica Mars) but they remind me of a much simpler happier time.
