I don't think anything I listen to, I really try to put into some category, but if I had to, I still listen to classic rock (alot of pool halls only play this, biker hang outs, etc.) and some "angry" music, not sure if thats a real genre, but I think you get the idea. Seems the only time I can listen to whatever I want is when I am at home.
What about the rest of you?

At my old job, there were many times where I was forced to listen to music I hated, and it was OVER AND OVER, EVERY DAMN DAY!
And the same thing happens anywhere I go really. Stupid radio music, and I can't stand most of it :(
Home is the best for music.

I don't mind elevator music, I know many do. The only thing that really bothers me is music in the grocery store, and music in a restaurant that does not match the theme of the place. Whats up with that?

One of my former jobs was like a musical prison. All we had was this propaganda Radio thing meant to advertise songs that we wanted people to buy. So the result was the same damn 14 or so songs repeating over and over, for months at a time! Things got a little better after closing, since we could put on whatever CD we wanted then usually.
Whenever I am to places where the music is not my type, I always have a backup with my cellphone. I will just plug-in the headset of my cellphone and play the MP3 that is recorded in it. That way, I still could listen to the music I like even wherever I may be.

The only time I lose my patience with music is when I have to call up some customer support guy and they keep playing the music everytime they say 'your call is important to us'. It makes me so mad ,lol. Even the best of songs don't pacify me at that moment.

Yea I don't really like on hold music either, esp. when the music doesn't match the type of company you are calling. There is nothing more fun than calling your ISP and hearing really really old music like from back in the 60's, that is just weird to me.

Nextel's hold music is the worst. Which sucks since I always seen to be calling them over their stupidity. I also worked a shoe store with a pre-recorded CD. In an eight hour shift you were going to hear the whole thing at least 6/7 times straight through. It used to drive me bonkers.
