Who got you into techno to start with? For me, it was random back in the 90's I was at a party and it just came on, something good with nice bass and sweet beats, no idea the song now, kind of which I did know. And oddly, cant remember who's party either, must have been a good one though. :D

Very good question! I think I just heard it one day, on the radio or TV or whatever back in the early/mid-90's. Soon after, I was hooked! I used to love watching that electronic music show on MTV, late at nights. Wasn't it called AMP? I forget.

It may have been AMP, my memory is horrible!! I remember hearing some friend of mine from high school talk about it one day, you know, all the "freaks" in high school, the ones that played hacky sack, that were not the "stoner's" or the "motor heads", the ones that were just a little different and everyone could tell. :) Somehow I think someone had brought a CD player in one day and I heard it during a lunch break and went: What's that? Then I got hooked! :gosh:

I started dating a guy, he turned me in to a mudder, a computer geek, and a techno freak. lol <3 Best influence of my life. 10 years later, he's still one of my best friends.

I got a friend that is one of those "listen to this now" or you cant leave/do whatever you were planning to do, etc. Pain in my ass growing up, but turned me on and I have yet to let go. All her fault, I tell her this at least once a week when I am joan'zen for some good new stuff.

A buddie of mine here local does alot of promoting for raves/club scenes in the Phx/Tempe area. I went with him a couple of times, but really a crowd is not my idea of a good time, esp. when its located at a place that serves alcohol, only b/c I had a bad experience one time.....

Blondie + Beer Bong + 5" heels she couldn't walk in = Me going home smelling like rankness. :(

Otherwise, I'm good for it, I like to chill and listen to the stuff going on around me. I'm a people watcher. *WATCH OUT*

Late night radio and not being able to sleep. A local station used to play techno and ambient late at night.

Loved listening to it. And decided it was way too much fun sounding not to try.

I go to a few parties and it came on a lot, at first I didn't think much of it, but it grew on me :P
