Editing and producing your own music

Do you know how i go about making my own music with pc.I used to use a
tascam 414 fourtrack homestudio and record one track at a time and have my
effects pedals rigged to it so i could add efects to my voice and guitar and
keyboard etc and then once i recorded each track i could play them back for
them to be playing together and then would download it to a tapedeck , but i
would like to know how to do the same with the pc as in what i need to be
able to plug guitar in to pc and the same for keyboard and mike and be able
to record one track at a time for it to be stored into whatever sofware and
then be able to either add effects whilst recording track or add it to track
after it and then be able to hear it playing back together and knowing how
to then burn it on to cd to be able to play it on a stereo cd player.

Your help would be so appreciated
If you could help me on this matter

Eddie

Your best bet is to visit a local musician's store.
My best bet on the basics are: cubase (software), a few good fx
plugins (software) and a decent sound card (hardware).
