virgin to deejaying
hi everyone...
i wanna become a DJ in one of the clubs here...but i have no idea how to handle the equipments...i have a few selection of songs tht i wanna play, but i havent mixed them or anything... i wanna get intot his field...i wanna buy equipments...wht r the equipments i require...i m in Chicago these days, is there a school i cud go to tht teaches party-deejaying?... ps. i NEED A COOL NAME...u know a good name...not like "DJ Sam" or "DJ Black Ice"...i need soemthing SUPERB....i m sure many of u dj's who have been in this for many years probly wish if they had some other name...SO SUGGESTIONS WELCOME ![]() thanks ppl |

you may be in the same situation like sami (aka DJ Toxx) - so perhaps zake a closer look at my advice in his thread. About the name: Your choice of DJ name should be something that has a personal connection with you/your life. Normally it's impossible to help you at that point, 'cause nobody here knows you... |

Also, the Dj game is getting wider now. Two decks and a mixer wont get you very far in chicago unless you got something special to offer - That can take years so my advice would be to get a cheap FX rack from the start and make it a proper part of your arsenal. Something with a basic echo and flange.
Get that and I'll show you how to use it to good effect with minimum learning.
