"Fader Start" on Stanton CD player

I just bought a Stanton S550 dual CD player. It has a
feature that allows some mixers (like the Stanton SMX-211)
to automatically start the CD player when you move the
cross-fader toward one channel or the other.

I have a larger, older 14 channel mixer that doesn't have
this "fader start" feature. I'm wondering whether I can add
a switch for each CD player on the mixer surface so I can
start and fade in from the mixer, rather than having to
reach down and hit the pause/play key on the CD control
head.

Does anyone know how the Stanton "fader start" works? Does
anyone have a schematic of the SMX-211 or another Stanton
mixer with the "fader start" so I can see how it works. The
jack on the CD head uses a standard 1/8 inch two-conductor
phone plug.

I know there are other makes (Denon?) that also have a
"fader start" feature, but it looks like it works
differently because it uses a 3-conductor plug on the
interconnect cable.

Thanks,
Ed

I've often thought about how it works, but recently found out that it
works either by sending a low voltage into the player, or just putting a
switch onto the 2 contacts of the jack plug.
I found this information on the net: On Numark Cd decks
5v Normal Polarity - Cue (also signifies 'stop' if sent from the CD
player)
5v Reverse Polarity - Play

If I find anymore info i'll post it up!
