With classic songs such as "The Message" Grandmaster Flash helped to revolutionize rap as we know it today. Besides being one of the most influential rappers of the 80's, his music is still being sampled by others to this day. Although I am not familiar with all of his material, what I have heard is amazing. Many of the beats in songs sound fresh to this day, and Grandmaster Flash's lyrics were honest in a way few other rappers can even come close.

Joseph Saddler (born January 1, 1958 in Bridgetown, Barbados), better known as Grandmaster Flash, is a American hip hop musician and DJ; one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting, and mixing. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming the first hip hop/rap artists so honored.
