How do You Haul Your Equipment?

I was just wondering how alot of you move your equipment from event to event if you don't use house equipment at a club? I've got a little trailer I can haul with my car at the moment but I feel very amateur pulling up with it and my stuff covered with just a tarp. I've been thinking of trading in my car for a small SUV and getting an actual trailer. Any recommendations?

Depending on the size of things you are hauling, I have seen some people use vehicles as small as a Sub. Forrester or a Rav to tote things around with. Maybe check out some smaller ones before you get a SUV, since they tend to suck down gas, and rather than a trailer too, depending on where you live, I don't think having the equip in heavy sunlight (or rain) would be a good idea.

I store my stuff in my garage (its nice having a two car garage sometimes) and only load it into the trailer when I need it for a gig. So it doesn't sit in there much and at the moment its just a couplemidium sized speakers and my mixing case and cable case. I normally rent lights/larger speakers if need be from a company I have a long relationship with, but its geting kind of pricey.

Mine is stored in the basement normally. I use my grand father's truck to take the stuff to where ever I have to be, and that works out ok because he has two vehicles and never goes further than the bowling alley. I keep meaning to look at a bigger vehicle of my own.
