How Much Do You Get Paid?
For an average length private hiring session-say a wedding or anniversary party. How much do you charge per hour for your services?
Does it depend on the day of the week that they want you, and how late it goes? |

Most of the DJs I know have tiers of rates. Depending on the group thats hiring and how much equipment is needed, and how long it will be. So for instance a non-profit group might cost $300 for an evening dance with medium equipment (some speakers, lights, plus sound board) while a private wedding might cost closer to $700.

That makes sense. I think I need to revamp my pricing, and honestly don't know where to begin. I don't know what is fair as the competition locally are really charging what I think is terribly high. But I don't want to undercut it a whole lot and end up inundated.
