How to fix warped vinyl

how do you flatten a warped record. the bar i play in has shitty decks and
tunes that i can play in the house will just not spin properly as they are a
bit warped. how would i flatten them without causing damaging or warping
them even more.

thanks

Try softening them in hot water - make sure it's not too hot, and try it
with a crappy old record you don't want. Alternatively, very (and I do
mean VERY) gentle warming in a cool oven with the record on a perfectly
flat tray may work.
Only suggestions - don't hold me responsible if you end up with a puddle
of black plastic. ;-)

Re: How to fix warped vinyl

This is NOT a science, bur has worked for me in the past:

Two heavy pieces of glass. Place record between and leave in moderate
sun for about 3-5 minutes per side. Let cool while still between
glass.

Practice with old records so you can get the feel of exactly how long
for your area due to varying intensities of sun's strength at
different latitudes

That's a total different view on this case!

Another thing you can try is to just bend the record. After a while of
bending (don't expect results after a minute) the record will get closer and
closer to the shape it once used to be...
