Karaoke Help

Hello,

I am throwing a Halloween party and I need to add a Karaoke machine to
my set up. I will have CD Tables and I have plenty of Mics and stuff,
so What do I need? The Karaoke unit itself and a monitor I suppose?
Can I use my 13 inch TV lying around? If so then I need the Karaoke
unit and tracks. What is a nice low price affordable KAraoke Unit? Any
ideas?

And here is my big question. Is it possbile to DL and Burn Karaoke
Tracks to a disc and use them in these units? or copy other discs?

ANy Info woul dbe awesome

Yes but......
1) You will find them with winmx (search for Archieve and zip files prefixed
with SF and EZ) as mp3+g files which can then be played from a PC with
Winamp and the free CDG plugin.

However - you want to burn them to disc as BIN files (converting them with
the free mp3+gtoolz.)

Ideally to avoid complication you need a cd writer capable of burning CD+G
discs (plextor/sony/yamaha). It is possible to use non-compatibles but it's
complex.

You have to know exactly what you are doing and have the right hardware,
and, as you only have a couple of weeks left.........

Additionally, you need plenty of time for copying.

The graphics part of a CD+G needs to be extracted with great accuracy
at a slower speed than normal - I use 4x.

Try the newsgroup news:alt.binaries.sounds.karaoke where there are
many helpful people, and a regularly posted selection of programs to
assist you.

What Stig said is correct, you can burn CD+G with a non-compatible
curner, but it's a damned sight easier with a plextor/sony/yanaha
model (except that my Sony DVD writer is not CD+G compatible)

Got to www.ahead.de to find a link to CD+G compatible burners.

cheers

BJ

Re: Karaoke Help

Easiest move, is to borrow or rent a complete set for the gig. You can buy
an inexpensive karaoke player from "Best Buy" e.g. "Singing Machine" about
a $100.00 Output the signal through your mixer and amp. I'd recommend the
following CDG's for quality and consistency of sound, "Sound Choice", "D K",
some "Music Maestro", "ChartBusters"
