making music - question for the djs

hey people,
I was just wondering where do you get the sounds when you're creating a
new track. i mean - using sounds from the sound pool is lame and they
are too simple - you will never make a good track of it...

I was thinking of picking up sounds from other tracks...thus comes the
question - is there a program which is more or less built for cutting
out sounds, since music maker, fruity loops e.t.c. are a pain in the
ass when you try to do that (really hard and takes too long)..

Thanks,
Nik
