Morning music

The first thing I do during morning once I wake up is to switch on my music system and play some loud music. That wakes me up and puts me in a good mood to start my day .I think a lot of us do this. Could you share what kind of music do you like to listen to when you wake up ?

I'm not really a type of person who turns on the speaker in the morning with a loud volume. But my brother do this and his type of music really wakes me up and sometimes we fight about it. The artists he plays every morning is Linkin' Park. In the new album (Minutes to Midnight), I think I have memorized the lyrics even if I don't like to listen to it.

I am pretty sure thats how I woke up every morning for school when I was younger. Now mind you over 10 years ago, there were only so many stations on the TV you could use. I had an RCA that you can sit the sleep timer to turn off, and the alarm to wake you up. Before I would crash out for the night I would turn the volume up, I remember it only showed that it went to vol. 30 but if you clicked the remote a couple more times, it did get louder. Then turn the TV off and sleep, when I woke up, it really didn't matter what was on, MTV, VH1 whatever - I was awake, quickly and researching for the remote before my mom would start to scream at me. I remember once I woke up to my TV played the un-edited version of NIN (Closer), my mother freaked out, still no idea how it was unedited. She was

Now I have gotten used to being an adult, so I tell people and mostly wake when the light hits my eyes. How I wish to be younger again.

I used to wake up to either pop sadly or country, those were the only stations around the town when I was a teenager. That changed after I hit 18 and moved out to a larger area, then it was either rock or classic. I am saving up to get one of those small home theater type clocks, that you can run remote from one side of the house to the other, in hopes it has an alarm setting, then I can pick what I want to hear when I wake!

It really depends on my mood when I wake up. When I feel moody, I will play some rock music to make my day. If I'm too happy, I will play some romantic tunes. But most of the time, I just play some instrumentals just for meditation in the morning.

For waking up, some loud up-tempo music works quite well.

For sleeping however, I have found that Ambient works the best.

Just pick a nice relaxing record to help you dose off at night.

Perfect for people with sleeping probs like me!

Too many people in our shared family house, so there is never loud anything unless everyone is at work except me. My wake up choice is generally R 'n' B or something old, or something of that type. I like the heavies in the afternoon and the gentle stuff for bed.

I always wake up hearing M.S. Subbulakshmi's "Venkateswara Suprabhatam". It was the musical hymns to awaken Lord Balaji early in the morning.

In the mornings I normally enjoy some sort of trance or I actually put on artists like Mason Jennings, John Mayer and Jack Johnson
