R'n'B, Rap, Hip-Hop: Who's making you shake your legs

Of the semi-mainstream rappers, this guy has always been a favorite of mine. He has serious lyrical abilities, and an intelligence to his work that almost nobody can match. Every album I have heard by him is excellent, and I can't recommend him highly enough. Almost nobody else in the mainstream rap scene is worth a listen anymore, but Nas is a big exception.

I have some great raps w/ NAS in them. He is very much an over looked rapper with some awesome skills.

If not, start off with "It Was Written" or Illmatic.

discovered my father's music
like Prince searches thru Rock in the 'Purple Rain'
but Minneapolis was the bridge
home to the "Super Kid" some were well known
some doing bids,
I might of ended up on the wrong side of the tracks
If pops wouldn't of pulled me back and said Yo!
