Lucky

Hi peeps, can anybody recomend a good package, for making music from
samples. I downloaded the free version of ProTools but it doesn;t seem
to want to install on my XP Pro machine, giving a message saying
Windows 98 SE at least is required.

I've dowloaded all the samples for Sasha's "Airdrawndagger" LP off the
memebers section of his website, and need a package to see what i can
do with them all. Ideally, I'd like the package to have some special
effects and a synth too can play with.

Try Reason. It's a bit of a monster and will take aeons to master but
everything is there. The other fantastic piece of software, although
better suited to sampled loops than sampled sounds is Ableton Live.

Cubase. Bit expensive, but it's widely available in all the usual
places.

thanks Dale, I was looking mainly for public domain free ware / open
source software - must be something good out there, anybody know?

Try the eJay stuff. It's so cheap. Buy it somewhere like Spain when
you next go abroad, where it costs less than 5 Euro, completely legal
too. It's still in English (if you choose the "English" option when
splash-screen opens)
