If you have *any* desire to be a DJ, you will need to learn how to
count BPMs. It isn't hard, and it's an essential skill.

Try a google search for "counting BPMs".

i can count bpm on techno, but i seem to have a really big problem with
rap/hip-hop bpm counting...i have a few i think are correct but i am
also seeing what is really correct.

any good technique on bpm counting with hip hop (which is the only type
of music i am having trouble in).

just practice mixing it up more, you won't need bpm at all.
if you have problem counting it, which i fail to see why,
just focus on the snares.

True, the snare typically hits on the 2 and 4 beat.
Can't see why it's any harder to count one genre, VS another.
Hip-hop/rap is slower, so it should actually be easier.

You be the BPM counter and count them yourself.

If you're too lazy for that, buy a metronome..

It's a handy dandy bpm counter for windows. you simply tap the spacebar
to the temp of the music and "Wahlah" you got BPM. I've used it for
thousands of songs. It beats the hell out of the old stopwatch method.
