Need advice on the following problem.when i hook my 2 ,1210s up to my
mixer my right hand deck works through mixer via my speakers,only one
side producing sound though \1SPEAKER/but when use cross fader to bring
in left hand deck there is no sound at all.All my phono leads are
connected properly as are the grounding cables and speaker cables i
have double checked this . Then i swaped over the decks right hand
deck to left hand channel on mixer and vice versa this also works
through mixer but comming through \BOTH SPEAKERS THIS TIME/.it cant be
mixer as this is brand new it must be my 1210 can anyone help .As
anyone had this problem .Tested mixer at freinds house works fine on
his set up.SPEC 2X1210s .Allen and Heath XONE 62 MIXER, BRAND NEW.PRO
LINE 1000 W AMP. BAND NEW , 2XPROLINE SPEAKERS 400W ,BRAND NEW AS
WELL.If it is deck will this be expensive to fix .jayzee .England .UK

It is more accurate to use the terms deck/table 1, and 2, not left and right.
Anyway....
As I understand it, you get sound from one table, and not the other.
When you swap them (1>2, 2>1) the problem reverses sides.
You state that you've checked all connections. Have you switched or
installed new carts, recently? Some cartridges will fail at the contact points,
if there's even the slightest bit of dirt. Did you try both tables through another
mixer? It appears that you said so, but your writing style is a bit confusing.
If you *did* test them through another mixer, and the problem persists, it is
most certainly something in the table. Could be a bad cart contact, bad cable,
etc.
