Overloud Car Stereos

My neighbor is one of those idiots how thinks music should shake the foundation and realign the water table before its "good" sounding. So every time he comes home/leaves I have to listen to the thump, thump, thump of his stereo. He just got a new car and I was happy for a bit until he mentioned he had to have his subs fixed and they got sent out for a couple weeks. But at least I got a short break. Whats your take on the noise level of music in cars? Lots of sub and not alot of treble or nice and even?

I hate when people do that! There is nothing worse than quietly walking down the street when you are suddenly blasted out by some idiot in a silly car, or of course woken up by one driving past.

I like my car music nice and gentle and even.

I once lived in an apartment that is near the road and I just hate cars passing at the middle of the night with their sound system turned up so loud. They just want to show off that they have a sound system that shook the ground when they pass.

I have a system with 12' subs in the trunk but I don't overpower it with bass. I like to feel the bass throughout the car but its got to have a good balance mids and highs to. Even when I am in the mood to crank my system up Its pretty damn loud on the inside of the car but not so much outside unless the windows are down. My subs could probably rattle the neighbors house but I dont turn them up like that.

In my understanding, we cannot the subs but can only feel it, is this true? So that is the reason why it rattles or shakes the things near the subs when it is played.

I don't have a car yet but when I do have one, I will turn on my sound system wherein I could enjoy my listening pleasure but at the same time would not disturb anyone outside the car.
