P.A.T. tested?

Hi, I have been a DJ for 17 years and have only just happened upon this
problem.

The venue I will be playing at says that I can only use my equipment if it
has been P.A.T. tested.

Nobody has ever asked me for this before and my equipment has never gone
wrong before.

Where do I get P.A.T. tested? Do electricians do it if you call them out?
I'm in the UK.

Thanks.

Quagga

Re: P.A.T. tested?

At one time you could buy equipment new and it didn't nmeed to be tested for
2 years.. then 1 year.... now it has to be PAtested straight away.
making the cost of a £1 IEC Mains lead over double including Test.

Alot of electricians will have the machinery to do it. But its not cheap if
you have a lot of stuff.
Remember, all your mains leads, extension leads, have to be checked too.
And if you use active (powered) speakers in your setup (mackie, jbl eon's
etc) They need testing too.

Its a crazy way of going about things but thats how it is.
