Fit Lad Berkshire

There's a phone number in the UK where you just hold up your phone to
the speaker and have a record playing.When done,it TEXT's you back
with the name of the record.Can't find the number anywhere.I've used
it before so know it exists.Anyone know the number or what it's called
?

Yeah .... it's Shazam and the number is 2580.

There's also a website and if you register
(http://www.shazam.com/uk/do/home) you can have a password (which you type
in after your phone number when logging on) and it will give you a list of
every track you've tagged since you started using it.

It's the ultimate trainspotters tool ...... my only problem is that I can
never get a bleedin' signal in most clubs !!!

Cheers Fid.I knew someone would know it on here.I work in clubs and I
know what yoiu mean.I've been at one place for 14 years - and they let
me put a small aerial up so my phone could pick up in there.I say
small - the aerial cable comes out of the club,up the side of the
building to the roof garden.It's lead then goes up to the top of a 7
ft pole because all the chimneys around sheild the signal.Works very
well.Been up there about 5 years !!

DJ booth is not always easily accessible in clubs, and some DJs are just
plain assholes. For example, my housemate has been a DJ for a few years and
has
just moved into this area (3 weeks ago), we were out in a bar recently, and
he's looking for a few gigs (used to be quite well known in the last
town he lived in), so just went up to the DJ and introduced himself, and
just asked casually about good places to get gigs in this town, at
which point the guy just said "look just fuck off, just fuck off and stop
hassling me, let me do my job"...

Before anyone says "oh but he was stopping him DJ" this is rarely the case,
having been a club and bar DJ myself for about 8 years you always have a few
mins between tunes, or can make them to say hi to someone, these are the
people you're paid to entertain, this includes nights I used to do in
London,
playing UK Garage, which involves very quick mixing and lots of cutting and
scratching, but you give it a break for one track to say hi to someone,
or just be polite and say either "hold on need to do my mix" or even "chat
to me at the end mate, am a bit busy at moment". No need for it.
