I remember a few years ago there were lots of competition to remix
other peoples tracks and win loads of gear and stuff. Find it loads
easier to get started when I have ideas already and now I'm getting a
bit better I'd love to have a go. Anyone know and mags or websites
still doing this??

Acidplanet often has a remix contest going.
I've been looking online for others, but the search engines keep picking up
stuff that's been over for a loong time.

Check out radiohead.com -- they have a contest going on now.

These days, you just have to watch various music maker forums to hear
the announcments. =)

quiet. Can't say I've been on them for a while myself though.

Acidplanet.com is running a remix contest for Marillion.
No, I'm not familiar with them either. Usually they have more contests
(around three at a time) but a notice on their website says that they are
having some difficulty clearing some songs for the contests.

Only drawback is that you have to use Acid to make your mix.
