Here is the mainstream house and trance picks of the week from Resurrection
Records, Columbus OH USA, for the week of 2-8 February 2004 All titles are

Jungle Brothers vs Bassheads White ENG 12 - mashup circulates as Dee Magic
2004, this pairs the vocal line from Jungle Brothers "I'll House You" with
the synth line from one of the Bassheads' early 90s production. 10.99

No Doubt "It's My Life" White GER 12 - limited edition German house mixes by
Great People, Stephan Bradley and Stuart Price of the current pop hit for Ms
Stefani & company with the full vocal paired with funky electro-tinged house
orchestrations, in the low-mid 120s BPM range. 10.99

Can 7 f/Angela Caran "What 2 Do" Peppermint Jam GER 12 - Smooth, seductive
garage vocal house with a sweet female vocal and funky, warm and shuffly
remixes by Guido Craveiro and Cue & A making for the perfect cut for
smaller, more intimate floors or late-nite play. 10.49

Deep Swing f/Donna Washington "Take Me To The Disco" Generate USA 12 - An
inspiring vocal paired with smooth, seductive house synth orchestration and
a solid, shuffly rhythm line for the more intimate rooms. Includes a remix
by Hardsoul that is funkier and darker in feel. 6.79

DJ Peoples f/Marc Vane "I'll Get Ya Back" Milk & Sugar ITA 12 - Milk & Sugar
going onto a funky sidetrip here with a catchy spoken vocal of a guy whose
girl dumps him for another guy and his promise to get even worked over a
chunky, pumpy rhythm and house synth line in a Derrick Carter manner.
Includes a remix by Soulman on the flip. 10.49

Sophie Ellis-Bextor "I Won't Change You" Polydor ENG C5 Part 1 and Part 2 -
Followup to the massive "Mixed Up World" finds another bouncy pop gem from
the voice behing Spiller's "Groovejet". Disc one includes a solid bigroom
house mix by Solaris while disc 2 includes a previously unreleased mix of
"Murder On The Dancefloor" by Phunk Investigation. 10.79 either part.

Charles Feelgood "I Feel Good" Solmatic USA 12 - Funky production with a
pumpy remix by Dave Armstrong that add a touch of techy punch and a massive
breakdown to the production that builds with a looped vocal sample of the
title before hitting back hard. Original is a bit funkier and adds a catchy
trumpet hook to the production. 6.79

Glory f/Jocelyn Brown "Hold Me Up" Noise BNX 12 - The inimitable Ms Jocelyn
Brown providing the vocal power on this funky, discofied hand-in-the air
production with her inspiring vocals supported by solid remixes from Junior
Jack and Warren Clark. Could very well be a Defected release later this
year, but why wait til then! 10.49

Ofra Haza "Love Song 2004" Club Elite BNX 12 - An intoxicating blend of
punchy, haunting techy-progressive house synthwork, driving rhythm lines and
the haunting vocal prowess of Ofra Haza combine in the "Givin U Some
Pleasure" mix for a completely enchanting production. 10.49

Housology f/Tania Monies "Turn Up That Stereo" Sound Division ITA 12 -
Italian commercial house production with the sassy vocals of Ms Monies
supported by a blend of solid rhythm lines and funky commercial house
synthwork. 10.49

Jark Prongo "Running Wild" Pssst BNX 12 - Funky, punchy underground house
productions with more than a touch of retro thrown in for good measure, this
new release from Jark features on the A-side a punky male vocal while on the
flip a more seductive female vocal is worked into the production. 10.49

Jorge Jaramillo & Sheldon Romero "House Music Pneumonia" Subliminal USA 12 -
Originally slated for release 2 weeks ago but held up due to pressing
problems, this release sees Subliminal moving into almost bigroom tribal
territory with massive drums, sharp tech-tinged bigroom house synths and a
hooky female vocal. Flipside track is techier in feel and just as energetic
but more along the lines of recent Subliminal releases. 6.79

Junior Jack f/Robert Smith "Da Hype" Defected ENG 12 Part 2 - 2nd half of
the UK edition of this massive tech-tinged house monster includes the
Original version with a new vocal by the Cure's Robert Smith that blends
perfectly with the tracks mild retro-80s feel as well as the B-side track
"Stupid Disco". Already a chart topper on the UK Buzz charts and will be one
of the big tracks of the season. 10.49

Junior Jack "Da Hype" Noise BNX 12 Part 2 - 2nd half of the Belgian edition
of this track features the funky, techy original instrumental version of
this track that was out on limited promo editions back in November and a
Warren Clark dub that uses hooks of the Robert Smith vocals over his
trademark funky discofied house production. 10.49

Major Boys f/Kathy Brown "Voodoo Magic" Stealth ENG 12 - Featuring an
incredible vocal performance from Ms Kathy Brown on Roger Sanchez' label
this is pumpy, slightly discofied bigroom house with a vocal to match. On
the flip P Brunkow provides a smoother, funkier and dubbier reworking for
the more intimate rooms. 10.49

Meat Katie vs Christian J "Turn Me Out" Kingsize ENG 12 - Sampling Kathy
Brown's classic vocal from Praxis "Turn Me Out" this is a massive bigroom
house production with thundering rhythm lines, hard-hitting house synth work
and those famous hands-in-the-air vocals. Includes a solid remix by D
Ramirez on the flip. A chart topper on the UK buzz charts for weeks. 10.49

Middleman Soundsystem "Relaxed" White ENG 12 - A birgoom house cover of
Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Relax" with a lot of energy and punch, all the
original synth elements and a vocal that is quite well done even though it
is not the original. Very fun production that will easily get the crowd that
is partial to covers singing along. 10.99

Robbie Rivera & Axwell f/Suzan Britton "Burnin'" Episode USA 12 - New US
edition of this vocal houser released last summer in Europe, with seductive
female vocals and energetic remixes by Axwell, and JJ as well as one new
remix by Robbie Rivera himself in his trademark tech-infused style. 6.79

Britney Spears "Toxic" Jive GER C5 - Import-only CD release on the latest
single from Ms Spears features the original version as well as the funky
retro-tinged pumpy house reworking by Armand van Helden and a breakbeat
reworking by Bloodshy. No USA CD-Maxi scheduled for this single and this
German edition contains only the Van Helden mix. 10.79

Wet Potatoes "Latex" Fragile ITA 12 - Punchy tech-tribal hybrid track from
Italy with driving rhythm lines, sharp techy synth orchestrations and the
famous "In My House" vocal hook worked into the production. The "Perverse
Mix" on the flip has a Benny Benassi meets Robbie Rivera feel to the
production and is the more energetic of the two mixes. Two mixes, both roof
raisers for those who like their tracks, dark, gritty and slightly acidic.

Trance & Progressive

DJ Scot Project "FM (Feelin Me)" Overdose GER 12 - latest lettered release
from this German producer is a massiver Germanic bigroom trance production
with driving rhythm lines, room-filling vibrant melodic synth orchestrations
and a hooky diva-infused female vocal hook worked into the breakdown that
build into a sharp acidic pause before returning to the melodic production.
On the flip is a harder, sharper reworking. 10.49

G&M Project "Sunday Afternoon" ID&T BNX 12 - ID&T on a tear with this
hard-hitting bigroom instrumental production with driving rhythm lines,
waves of dark, wall-shaking synthwork and massive breakdowns that build to
dramatic climaxes. On the flip MORPH provide a rmix that is brighter and
lighter in the synth orchestration but sacrifices nothing in terms of energy
level or tempo. 10.49

Graham Gold "The Ending" Relative ENG 12 - Another stunning production for
the UK anthemic instrumental trance crowd as the legendary Graham Gold
releases a new single with two tracks that are full of his trademark
dramatic crescendos of melodic synthwork, dramatic breakdowns and driving
rhythm lines sure to enduce euphoria. 10.49

Hiratzka & Kazell "Reaction" Alternative Route ENG 12 - Bigroom progressive
house on the cards with the Future Funk Remix with its hypnotic blend of
female vocal hooks, spacious darker progressive synth orchestration and
energetic rhythm lines. On the flip the original mix is a sparser, deeper

Ofra Haza "Love Song 2004" Club Elite BNX 12 - An intoxicating blend of

PUSH) and Zigi provide a more deep trance-oriented production that uses less
of the vocal and is a bit brighter in production but stull very haunting in

Iio "Smooth" 541 BNX 12 - finally seeing the commercial light of day this
followup to "At The End" is another solid release with those distinctive
female vocals over solid production. Remix comes from Airbase who provide a
stunning bigroom melodic trance interpretation of the track guaranteed to
get the hands in the air. On the flip is the original mix which is a more
progressive house-oriented production. 10.49

Jon The Dentist "Global Phases 2004" Duty Free ENG 12 - Solid bigroom
instrumental trance production from the Duty Free camp with the standout
here being the Agnelli & Nelson Remix which takes the driving energy of the
original production and updates the sound with waves of melodic synth
orchestrations and dramatic breakdowns. Solid production that will get the
hands in the air. 10.49

Kyau vs Albert f/Damae "Velvet Morning" Anjunabeats ENG 12 - Stunning
bigroom melodic trance production with a mix by Mirco De Govia that wraps
the haunting male vocal in an intoxicating blend of massive melodic synth
orchestrations, solid rhythm lines and dramatic breakdowns. On the flip is a
deeper, lusher reworking by Aalto.- 10.49

Plummet "Cherish The Day" More Money ITA 12 - The followup to the worldwide
anthem "Damaged" is finally here in the form of this cover of a Sade

2 Unlimited "Tribal Dance 2.4" Terapia GER 12 - New 2004 mixes of this
classic early '90s rave monster. Includes a MASSIVE bigroom trance mix from
Revil O that reworks the original synth elements into a contemporary, more
melodic yet exceedingly energetic number and uses the original female vocal
and bits of the original rap. And it also includes the original extended
version from 1992 for those whose originals may be worn out. 10.49

Paul van Dyk f/Second Sun "Crush" Vandit GER 12 - The German ubermeister of
trance returns for the third single from his album "Reflections". This time
he harnesses the vocal talents of punky rock group Second Sun for a track
that combines Herr van Dyk's incredible talent for melodic construction with
the raw techy energy of a Ferry Corsten or even Planet Funk. Three mixes,
with the Vandit club mix being the most techy in feel and the original more
melodic in feel. Absolutely MASSIVE. 10.49
