Here is the mainstream house and trance picks of the week from Resurrection
Records, Columbus OH USA, for the week of 19-25 January 2004 All titles are
available for order via our secure webserver from our website

takes the vocal and synth elements from Basement Jaxx "Where's Your Head At"
and blends them with elements from Armand van Helden's classic remix of
Sneaker Pimps "Spin Spin Sugar". Flipside has a bootleg house reworking of
Faithless "Insomnia." 10.99

The Beastie Boys "Fight For Your Right 2004" White GER 12 - The classic 80s
party track in a hard-hitting bigroom house production with the original
chorus and parts of the song worked into the production. Imagine Jason
Nevins and Planet Funk collaborating on a Beastie Boys track. Absolutely
HUGE! - 11.49

Daft Punk vs BT "Harder Faster Blue Skies" White ENG 12 - BT's classic
mid-90s production "Blue Skies" is paired with elements from Daft Punk's
"Harder Faster Better Stronger" in this bootleg. 10.99

The Doors "When The Music Is Gone" White USA 12 - circulating as Troia vs
Morrison, this is the Doors classic done in a dark tribal-progressive style
with much of the original vocal worked into the production. 7.49

Missy Elliot vs Kajagoogoo "Turn Your Freak On" White BNX 12 - Mark Simmons
mixes Kajagoogoo's "Turn Your Back On Me" with vocal samples from Missy
Elliot's "Get Your Freak On" for a solid mashup production from Belgium. -

Junior Jack vs Armand van Helden "You Don't Even Thrill Me" White ENG 12 -
Junior Jack's driving instrumental house production is paired with the vocal
and elements of the house synth from Armand's classic "You Don't Know Me"
for this energetic bigroom discohouse monster. On the flip is a bootleg
house mix of Incognito "Such A Good Feeling". 11.49

Kylie Minogue "Slow" White FRA 12 Part 3 - new funky retro electro reworking
of the track by Dan Ghenacia. Circulates as EAK with product code FNLTD02.

New Order vs Depeche Mode "I Feel Love On A Blue Monday" White ENG 12 - On
this bootleg elements of vocal and instrumental from both "I Feel Love" and
"Blue Monday" and woven together into a solid progressive-tinged production.
On the flip is an incredible bigroom reworking of U2's "With Or Without You"
that uses the full vocal and original synths but gives the track extra punch
in both the rhythm lines and additional synth orchestration. Excellent
reworking!. Very limited pressing. 11.99

Stardust vs Deepest Blue "Music Sounds Better With Blue" White GER 12 -
mashup that adds the vocal from the classic late '90s house track by
Stardust to the vocal and instrumental of 2003's hit by Deepest Blue. 10.99

Aaron Chase vs Breakdown "Groove Voodoo" B-Down USA 12 - Two cuts of pumpy
energetic tribal house with conga ablaze, dark heavy house synth and catchy
spoken male vocal hook saying "Hit That Shit" worked into the production.
Very Superchumbo in style. 6.79

Chakra "I Am 2004" Boss ENG 12 - Classic track from the early days of UK
trance production gets revisited for 2004 with a remix by Steve Murano that
counterpoises the seductive vocal with his trademark bigroom tech-tinged
house production that goes straight for the jugular and complements the
vocal perfectly. A completely different interpretation of a classic track.

German past gets a facelift for the new millennium as the classic hands in
the air track is reworked in a rousing piano-driven bigroom house production
by Bitcrusher, while ATM provides a funkier house interpretation. 10.49

Dr Kucho "Tanzania" Yellow FRA 12 - Bigroom tribal madness from this Spanish
master featuring hypnotic African chants, dark tribal synth stabs and
relentless waves of congas and tribal rhythm lines. On the flip Bob Sinclar
provides a remix that adds a bit of a disco tinge to the production without
taking away from the overall tribal feel of the track. 10.49

JJ Flores & Steve Smooth "Release" Finetune FRA 12 - Originally out in the
USA last year, this pumpy tech-tinged house production now comes with a
brand new Antoine Clamaran remix in his trademarks bigroom house production
style with hard hitting rhythm lines and funk-tinged house synth and bass

4Tune500 "Dancing In The Dark 2004" Black Gold ENG 12 - New 2004 remixes by
Mike Monday on this funky, catchy vocal house production first releases last
June. Hooky, slightly dishy female vocal paired with Mike Monday's punchy
piano-driven production with solid rhythm lines and a good deal of funk.

disco-tinged house production already huge in the UK includes a solid new
remix from DJ Antoine & Mad Mark in a chunky, funky production that works
well with the hands-in-the-air vocal that includes a hook from the classic
anthem "Young Hearts Run Free." Also includes the disco-tinged original

Mood II Swing "Can't Get Away From You" Defected ENG 12 Part 1, Part 2 and
C5 - Defected's debut for 2004 is this sultry, seductive house production
from veteran producers Mood II Swing with a silky female vocal at the heart
of the production. Disc 1 features remixes from Full Intention and Rulers of
The Deep for the bigger floors while disc 2 features the original version

rework by Superchumbo with both full vocal and dub versions as well as a
smoother house interpretation by Laidback Luke. CD-Maxi includes the new
mixes as well as the mixes from Rosabel from disc 1 released back in late
November 03. 12" part 2 is $6.79, CD-Maxi is $7.79

Phunk Phreaks & Doc Phatt "Dance With Me" Attractive GER 12 Part 2 - Catchy
disco-influenced house production with a warm, seductive male vocal worked
into solid rhythm lines and a catchy retro-tinged synth and live
instrumentation production. Includes a solid remix by Horny United that adds
to the punch of the rhythm line while preserving the beauty of the vocal.

Spoiled "All I Know" Intra ENG 12 Part 1and Part 2 - Chunky, punchy tech
house production with a seductive female vocal worked into a blend of

collection of previously released (and now out of print) earlier releases on
this highly acclaimed French tribal label. Disc 1 features productions from
Antoine Clamaran, Nathan Hawkes and Infernal 1 while disc 2 features Antoine
Clamaran, Louis Botella & Vibration Inc. Both discs full of bigroom tribal
drums, dark tribal synth hooks and catchy vocal enhancements. 10.49 each

Yer Man "Dirty Lover" Untamed ENG 12 - Hard-hitting tech-tinged bigroom
house production using suggestive male spoken vocal hooks (from a film we
think but we can't place it) over energetic rhythm lines and a sharp house

Ayu (Ayumi Hamasaki) "Depend On You" Drizzly GER 12 Part 1 - Japan's answer
to Madonna gets another bigroom trance transformation as Svenson & Gielen
provide the soild bigroom trance mix that matches perfectly with Ayu's
Japanese-language vocals. Also includes an instrumental version for those
floors that are not so multilingual that is a perfect combination of driving
rhythms, massive breakdowns and intricate melodies. 10.49

Laura Brannigan "Self Control 2004" Dancestreet GER 12 and C5- New 2004
trance-NRG mixes of this classic 80s track with the original vocals over
pumping trance orchestrations. Mixes come from Mindworkers, Force Four, Flip
N Fill and Kenny Hayes so 2 mixes in German style and 2 in a UK style. Big

CERN "The Message" A State Of Trance BNX 12 - Classic Dutch instrumental
trance production on Armin's label here with solid but not obtrusive rhythm
lines, dramatic breakdowns and stunning cascades of melodic synthwork with a
darker feel crafted to brilliance. 10.49

Chakra "I Am 2004" Boss ENG 12 - Classic track from the early days of UK
trance production gets revisited for 2004 with a stunning remix by Above and
Beyond who wrap the seductive female vocal in their trademark graceful
melodic production style that is energetic yet seductive at the same time.

Ferry Corsten "Right Of Way" Tsunami BNX 12 - New single from Ferry is a bit
more melodic than his previous "Rock Your Body Rock" but still has a techy

traditional big Dutch instrumental trance production that is very stunning

from among the big names of German trance production here as Pulsedriver, DJ
Shog and Rocco each take turns with this bouncy peakhour production for the
fans of the harder, more energetic Germanic bigroom trance style with happy
carefree female vocals in all the productions. 10.49

Kadoc "The Nighttrain 2004" Dos Or Die GER 12 - A classic track from the
bigrooms in the mid-90s gets a new rework from the veteran trance producter
Kosmonova which keeps much of the original energy and punch of the classic
production and adds a dose of 21st century German trance to take the track
to the next level. Fun, handraising production and includes the original
(and long deleted) version of the track from 1995 on the flip. 10.49

LMC vs U2 "Take Me To The Clouds Above" AATW ENG 2x12 Promo - Beginning life
as a wildly popular UK bootleg that takes the synth lines from U2's "With Or
Without You" and placed hooks of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know" vocal
on top. For commercial release Whitney's vocal was licensed & resung by
Rachel McFarlane and clearance given for the U2 samples and new mixes
provided by Kenny Hayes, Audiolash and Scott B. Result is bouncy
floor-friendly trancepop with samples everyone will recognize. 15.49

Fred Numf "Disorientation" Yo ENG 12 - two cuts of high octane bigroom
progressive house with energetic rhythm lines and dark haunting expansive
progressive synth orchestrations. Progressive house with tons of attitude

Svenson "Sunlight Theory" ID&T BNX 12 - One half of the popular remix team
starts 2004 off right for Dutch powerhouse ID&T with this massive bigroom
instrumental production full of energetic rhythm lines, hand-raising
breakdowns and intricate melodic synth orchestrations. 10.49

Tatana vs The Mystery "Soulcry" RR GER 12 - Stunning trancer from Germany
with energetic rhythm lines, dramatic breakdowns and sharp, room-filling
Germanic melodic synth orchestrations. Remix from The Mystery takes the
harder edge off the production for a mix that is more Dutch in melodic feel
but still packs tons of energy in the breakdown. Also includes a remix from
Sam Sharp for those who like the harder German sound. 10.49
