Includes solid remixes by Soul Avengerz and Soulworks that both play up the funkiness of the track. 10.49 Ron Carroll "Come Into My Life" Ghigh FRA 12 - Ghigh taking a break from the tech house for this smoother vocal house production feating one of the great veterans of the scene in a smooth, seductive blend of soulful vocals, shuffly rhythm lines and a disco-tinged melodic orchestration. 10.49 DJ Fat "Gonna Be" Link ITA 12 - Using a well-known house vocal hook this is a tribal-tinged Italian bigroom house production with a solid remix by Whiteside on the flip. Nice use of congas to add an extra spark to the production for the rooms that like a bit of tribal to their music. 10.49 DJ Vibe f/Franklin Fuentes "I'll Take You" Twisted USA 12 - Dark, driving progressive-tinged tribal monster from Twisted's USA branch with growling male spoken vocal hooks, haunting tribal synth orchestrations and energetic rhythm lines. Flipside mix is a bit more on the progressive edge with a smoother, yet still dark, feel. 6.79 Phil Hooton "King Of Kings" Susu ENG 12 - Susu returning with another inspirational funky vocal house production with a rousing vocal production that will get the hands in the air as the feet are moved to the solid rhythm lines and slightly discofied house synth and live instrumentaition production. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. 10.49 Land Between Grooves "Electricity " Whoop ENG 12 - Funky tech house production that has been storming up the UK buzz charts featuring a growly spoken male vocal over an edgy blend of driving rhythm lines and hard-hitting techy house synthwork. Tons of energy in the production and there is a Mike Monday mix on the flip. 10.49 Reel People "The Light" Papa ENG 12 - Smooth seductive garage track with a sultry female vocal over shuffly rhythm lines and a funky blend of house synthwork and live instrumentation. Inculdes three mixes by Copyright as well as Reel People's own reinterpretation. 10.49 Robbie Rivera "Relax 2004" Filtered USA 12 - Robbie revisits one of his classic tracks for the new year with a production that is now techier and punchier with the acidic synthlines for which he is known for. On the flip, Willie Morales goes a bit darker, a bit funkier in his interpretation but preserving a ton of punch to the rhythms. 6.79 Stereo Sapiens "Free Your Mind" Phuture Wax GER 12 - Hard-hitting bigroom tech house monster that integrates vocal samples from "The Matrix" into the blinding production with energetic rhythms and very little synthwork to keep the production purely focused on the rhythm line. 10.49 Tony Thomas "The Beast" Wildlife BNX 12 - Three cuts of seductive, haunting progressive tinged tribal house with dark, brooding synthwork and shuffly rhythm lines accentuated with congas and hypnotic vocal and chant hooks worked into the production. 10.49 Transatlantins "Mysteriosa" Stealth ENG 12 - Roger Sanchez returns with this haunting tribal-tinged bigroom house production that borrows hooks and rhythms from the classic dance the Flamenco to create an intoxicating preview for the upcoming Ibiza season. Seductive female vocals and chants in the breakdown of the vocal mix add to the drama of the production. 10.49 Trinity f/Revi "Where Is The Love" Anonymous USA 2x12 - Top-10 Billboard club chart track gets a limited release on a small, mysterious label with a seductive female vocal deftly supported by solid remixes from the one of the great producers of bigroom house, Junior Vasquez, with one mix having a more tribal feel to the production. 11.49 Various "Defected Miami Sampler" Defected ENG 2xLP Part 1and Part 2 - Limited edition samplers of Defected's upcoming summer 2004 releases produced in honor of this year's Winter Music Conference. Two double packs here with the first double pack featuring tracks from Jazmina, Mark Picchiotti, and Martin Solveig and is the more vocal house oriented set while disc 2, featuring tracks Havana Funk, Dubtribe Sound System and Martin Solveig seem to aim for the deeper, more intimate rooms - 19.99 each part. Kristine W "Save My Soul" Tommy Boy USA 12 and C5 - Follow-up to the massive "Fly Again" finds Kristine's stunning vocals supported by excellent remixes by Gabriel & Dresden (a dramatic progressive-tinged bigroom monster), Junior Vasquez (an a mid-90s retro bigroom style) and Mike Cruz (in a tribalized circuit house style). 6.79 for the 12" 7.79 for the C5. Voices "Voices In My Mind" MAW USA 12 - Hands in the air gospel house with a massive vocal inspring the crowd to feel the love as a smooth blend of house synth and shuffly rhythms provide the support to let this performance shine. Includes a dub version on the flip. 6.79 Argento "Disco Geiger 2004" Duty Free ENG 12 - Pumping tech-tinged bigroom house track that uses a Geiger counter sample, this was originally released in Italy in 2003 and now gets a UK edition on Duty Free with a new mix by Dave Aude who gives the track a more progressive tinge to the overall production. 10.49 Andy Caldwell f/Omega "Pushin'" Inspirit ENG 12 - Smooth, seductive garage vocal house with a stunning female vocal over an intoxicating blend of shuffly rhythms and funky house synth and live instrumentation. Spiritiual, soulful and seductive. 10.49 Stacy Burket "Rise Up" USA 12 - Follow-up to the monster "Shakedown' on Statrax earlier this year, this is a very hypnotic and energetic tribal house production with a progressive tinge and hooky male vocal stabs "Rise Up To The Rhythm" worked perfectly into the production. For the bigrooms that like the dark drums, and includes a Primal mix on the flip that is a bit less spacious and emphasizes the drums more emphatically. 6.79 Conga Squad "Gotta Have Ya" Graphic GER 12 - Solid bigroom disco house with lots of retro house synth, some live instrumentation, an energetic, slightly tribal-infuenced rhythm line and a massive female vocal all blended perfectly for a hands-in-the-air experience. Includes a dub version and acapella on the flip. 10.49 Doktor "Hard Style" Academy FRA 12 - Latest release from Antoine Clamaran's label featuring three cuts of driving tech house with energetic rhythm lines, driving acidic synth orchestrations and massive breakdowns and in some tracks vocal hooks. Solid bigroom floor destroyers. 10.49 Heavy Rock "I Just Wanna Be A Drummer" You USA 12 Part 2 - New US-only remixes by Robbie Rivera on this catchy bigroom tech-tribal hybrid production originally from the Netherlands with its male spoken vocal about how everyone wants to be a DJ over Rivera's trademark energetic blend of driving rhythms and acidic synth lines. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. 6.79 House Family "It's All Right" Ocean Trax ITA 12 Promo - Solid Italian disco-tinged house production with catchy female vocal, shuffly rhythm lines and smooth house synthorchestrations. Includes a solid vocal remix by Bini & Martini which adds a bit of punch to the production and two dub mixes by Moroni & Fontalan that gives the track a techier feel. - 11.49 Jaque "Love Will Save The Day" Jellybean USA 12 - Funky vocal house cover of Whitney Houston's classic with a standout vocal performance that will get the hands in the air while the rhythm lines and house synthwork blend perfectly for moving the feet in the more intimate rooms that like their house soulful. 6.79 Kelis "Trick Me" Virgin ENG 12 Promo - Not much information at the moment but we can say that these are DJ promo copies of the next Kelis single featuring remixes by Basement Jaxx in their signature chunky, funky house style. Commercial release not scheduled for another couple of months. Includes both a full vocal mix and a dub version. 10.99 Lautrec f/Terry Hall "Things" Bustin Loose ITA 12 - A warm, shimmery vocal house production from Italy with a seductive female vocal worked into an intoxicating blend of shuffling yet steady rhythm lines and spacious house synth orchestration. Perfect for the upcoming poolside party season (not to mention Winter Music Conference in Miami next week). A dub version on the flip included. 10.49 Live Element "Move That Big Thing" Gossip USA 12 - Funky disco-tinged house production on Gossip with a suggestive male vocal worked into the production. Perfect for the smaller, funkier house floors. 6.79 Lock & Burns f/Angie Brown "Be Free" Neutone USA 12 - Catchy mainstream house number featuring the vocals of former Bizarre Inc vocalist Angie Brown that drip attitude and demand attention as Lock & Burns create a funky, slightly dark mid-120s house orchestration that works perfecty with the gutsy vocal performance. On the flip, Peter Bailey provides a more aggressive tech-house interpretation that works the vocals in the breakdown perfectly. 6.79 Kylie Minogue "Red Blooded Woman" Parlophone ENG 12 Picuture - The followup to "Slow" is finally here and this time the bigroom can celebrate as Narcotic Thrust provide an uptempo house mix that utilizes the full singalong vocals that blend perfectly with their solid rhythm lines and slightly progressive house synth orchestration. Also included is a fashionista-friendly electrohouse mix from Whitey and the Chemical Brothers quirky take on "Slow." And it is a picture disc to boot! 11.49 Majestic 12 "Free Funk EP" Subliminal USA 12 - latest in the Subliminat saga is a three-track EP of driving tech house productions featuring energetic rhythm lines, acid-tinged house synth orchestrations, dramatic breakdowns and catchy vocal hooks worked into the production. For those who are liking the current tougher style of production from the Subliminal camp, this is another monster of a release. 6.79 Mary "Dreaming Of Lovin' You" Bomboza BNX 12 Part 2 - Stuart on the mix for the second part of this catchy pophouse release from Belgium. As was the case with the first edition this features sunny singalong female vocals but with a tougher, slightly tribal tinge to the instrumentation and rhythm lines. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. 10.49 Tom Neville "Just Fuck" UMM ENG 12 - Dirty male spoken vocal paired with a gritty, wobbly electro-tinged synth line and funky low-120s BPM rhythm line for a seductive production. Includes both explicit vocal and clean vocal versions. 10.49 Julius Papp "Feel The Rhythm" Neo Disco USA 12 - Funky disco house with a seductive female vocal sample of the title worked into the blend of shuffly rhythms and funky house synth and live bass guitar samples. Flipside "Getaway" is a funkier, deeper production with a soulful male vocal. 6.79 Purple Beat "The Voices" Direction ENG 12 - Promos of an upcoming single on Direction records, this is a bigroom underground house production with funky house synthwork, a solid rhythm line to keep the energy level high and vocal hooks from what sounds like an early 80s punk rock band, giving the track a definite hooligan house feel a la Planet Funk. 10.49 Rainbow Connection "Mixing In The Dusk" Fragile ITA 12 - covering the synth pattern from Stardust "Music Sounds Better With You" and integrating a vintage 80s rap vocal hook into the production with a conga-fueled rhythm line providing the support, this is a solid blend of recognizable samples. 10.49 D Ramirez "Freaque On" Slave ENG 12 Part 2 - Part two on this latest bigroom stormer from D Ramirez features two mixes from Seamus Haji in his trademark funky production style with wobbly house synthwork, toe-tapping rhythm line and solid soulful male vocal worked into the production. Includes a dub version and acapella on the flip. - 10.49 Rythm Syndicate "Brazilian Affair" Ghigh FRA 12 - French tech-tribal house hybrid with a summery male vocal chant, bright, slightly acidic house synth and a Latinized rhythm production. On the flip Laurent Wolf toughens up the rhythm line, thickens the synthwork and adds a new conga sample to the production for a solid reworking of the track that preserves the overall festival feel of the track. 10.49 Ruffneck f/Yavahn "E Street Beat" Soul Groove USA 12&C5 - Veteran producers whose "Everybody Be Somebody" was a mid-90s house classic return with another funky vocal production featring the seductive vocals of Yavahn over a smooth blend of shuffling rhythms and flowing synth and live instrumentation perfect for the more intimate rooms. The bundled C5 also includes full vocal and instrumental versions of the bonus track "Music To My Ears." - 8.99 Simon & Shaker p/Dark Providers "Believer" Intenso SPA 12 - A treat for the fans of dark, aggressive bigroom tribal as both mixes feature solid rhythm lines, a wobbly, slightly acidic synth line, spacious effects and growling male vocal hooks. The B-side is more purely tribal in feel while the A side has a touch more synthwork with a rougher, techier edge to the whole production. 10.49 Stonebridge "Put Em High" Hed Kandi ENG 12 - Massive new vocal house production from one of the masters of the genre, this features a massive female vocal over a funky blend of smooth rhythm lines and classic disco-tinged house production. Two remixes, with the JJ Remix being a touch deeper than Stonebridge's own Stockholm mix. Already a chart topper on the major UK buzz charts, and a sign of the upcoming summer season to melt away winter's chill. 10.49 Tone 7 "Dub Dub" Vibal USA 12 - Tedd Patterson under a different name with a hypnotic dark tribal-tech production with aggressive rhythm lines, spacious synth swells, catchy synth stabs and effects and a looped vocal hook of the title worked into the production.6.79 Trendroid "Rastafari" Renaissance ENG 12 - Funky new production from Trendroid that features a smooth male vocal about the origins of Rastafari worked into a driving production of energetic tribalized rhythm lines, spacious house synth swells paired with countering acidic synth stabs, and airy female chants in the Tech mix. The flipside Tribal mix is darker and more focused on the rhythm line with less use of synth stabs in the production. 10.49 Voodoo & Serano "This Is Entertainment" Bump GER 12 - latest single from this veteran German production team sees them leave the world of angelic melodies and bouncy vocals for the darker, griiter world of electro-flavored tech house with sharp acidic synth constructions paired with pumping rhythms and a punk-rock inspired male vocal. Two 4/4 versions and a breakbeat interpretation provided. 10.49 Trance & Progressive Aluna "All I Need Is Time" Soundpiercing BNX 12 - Haunting female vocal trancer with a floaty melodic reworking by Slusnik Luna that captures the ethereal beauty of the vocals while inspiring with its melodic buildups from the dramatic breakdown. On the flip, Noel Sanger provides a more progressive house oriented mix with shuffly rhythm lines, expansive synth swells and elements of the vocal woven into the production. 10.49 D:Fuse "The Other Side" System USA 12 - Solid new release from one of the biggest names in the US progressive house scene. Mixes come from Friday Night Posse, and Quango. 10.49 DJ Dean "It's A Dream" Tunnel Trance GER 12 - Two bigroom German trance productions with the A-side title track featuring a seductive spoken female vocal hook of the title over the bouncy rhythm line and punchy, high flying melodies. Flipside "Planet Earth" is more aggressive with harder rhythms, growly male spoken vocal hooks and mesmerizing chime bells that fit the darker feel of the track perfectly. This is also a picture disc pressed on very heavy vinyl picturing a panda. 12.99 Fingerfest Inc "Chemical Whore" Choo Choo ENG 12 - Spacious, slightly withdrawn and hypnotic progressive production that features dark, brooding synth swells, a solid rhythm line to give the production a boost, and a reserved spoken female vocal hook that fits the whole mood of the production perfectly. 10.49 F Massif "Somebody" Purple Eye BNX 12 - Hooky commercial release that rides the boundary between commercial trance and mainstream house with a seductive male vocal, solid rhythm line and subtle yet effective synth orchestrations that give the track a trance tinge yet still an overall bigroom house feel. 10.49 Kai Tracid "Conscious" Tracid Traxx GER 12 Part 2 - Second set of remixes on this track originally releases last autumn, this edition feature a remix by Ferry Corsten that is quite unlike his recent work, with a more progressive interpretation that transformes and computerized the female vocal and weaves it into a smooth synth production that has a defnite kick to the rhythm line. On the flip ASYS goes for the jugular with a hard-hitting German tech-trance interpretation that is not for the faint of heart - 10.49 Mrs Woods "Feels So Good 2004" White ENG 12 - Mid-90s handbag classic is sampled and given a major energy boost by Rachel Auburn in this high octane hard dance interpretation with the famous vocals inserted into the production perfectly to make the hands raise in the air as if on cue. B-side track "Unique" sees Rachel use another sample in a more traditionally UK-hard house interpretation. 10.99 Sarah McLachlan "Fallen" Arista ENG 12 - Stunning new single from the veteran vocalist that has already torn up the major US and UK club charts on promo, now getting official release in the UK. Two mixes, with the Gabriel & Dresden interpretation aimed squarely at the more commercial bigrooms floors with their anthemic production while Satoshi Tomiie goes for a deeper, darker and sparser production for the more progressive-oriented floors. Both mixes work perfectly with Sarah's stunning vocals. 10.49 Scintilator "The Festival" Tsunami BNX 12 - Tsunami takes a step back towards the more ethereal end of the Dutch trance spectrum with this latest release that features haunting melodic orchestrations over smooth, flowing rhythm lines. Classic Dutch instrumental trance production. 10.49 Session One f/Kristen Ficara "Forever" Dance 2 GER 12 - Bouncy singalong German vocal trance production with a blue-eyed female vocal integrated into an energetic blend of high-flying melodies and driving rhythm lines. On the flip, DJ Neo strips down the vocal and raised the energy level with a harder, more acidic interpretation. 10.49 Super 8 "Alba" Anjunabeats ENG 12 - Anjunabeats back with a stunning UK instrumental trance production with waves of melodic synth blended into dramatic breakdowns that crescendo and ebb into a massive buildup that shoots the energy level skyward, all supported by a steady, but unobtrusive rhythm line. Stunning release from one of the UK's finest trance labels. 10.49 Team Deep "Morning Light 2004" Massive Drive BNX 12 - Seductive trance-progressive hybrid using a famous house vocal sample (which we can't place) over a mesemerizing blend of haunting melodic synthwork and solid, steady rhythm lines. Greg Folter provides a more energetic reworking that toughens the rhythm line and brightens the synthwork. Fans of progressive breaks should check out the remix by Foltergeist. 10.49 Terra & One "Taiyou" Cuepoint GER 12 - Solid German melodic trance production with energetic rhythm lines, solid melodic synth orchestrations and catchy samples from 60s-era space missions worked into the production. 10.49 Armin van Buuren "Burned With Desire" Nebula ENG 12 and C5 - UK edition of this massive followup to "Just Another Day" features an exclusive remix by Riley & Durant that gives the track a more energetic rhythm line and a stunning new melodic orchestration that fits perfect with the seductive female vocals. Release also includes the stunning Rising Star vocal mix that was on both the original Dutch as well as the US editions. One for the angels. 10.49 for the 12", 10.79 for the C5 Sander van Doorn "Loaded" Oxygen BNX 12 - Dutch progressive-trance hybrid with a definite kick and energy to the production with the original mix being more progressive oriented with dark, driving rhythm lines and cavernous synth orchestrations with a dramatic breakdown that just builds and builds. SVD mix on the flip is darker in feel with a less elodic synth orchestration but still preserving the driving punch of the rhythm lines. 10.49 Benjamin Bates "Lost Myself" ID&T BNX 12 - Two powerful tech-tinged trance monsters from the ID&T label. "Lost Myself" is the more melodic cut with energetic rhythm lines, rolloing techy synth orchestrations and a hooky female vocal sample worked into the production. Flipside "Morning Glory" is a tougher, rougher production with a more acidic synthline and more aggressive rhythms. 10.49 Blank & Jones "Mind Of The Wonderful" Gang Go GER 12 - latest release from the veteran German trance producers features the vocalist from Perpetuous Dreamer with an emotional performance deftly supported by the stunning melodic instrumental production for which Blank and Jones are known for. Two mixes, the more melodic original mix and a more aggressive Club mix with a harder rhythm lines and thicker synth orchestrations.
