No, you cant connect the t/tables to the speakers directly. The decks must
go through the mixer then amplifer in that order.

What sort of amp are you running the mixer into? You are running the mixer
into an amp, arent you?

Yes there should be a ground wire at the back of the turntables and also a
grounding screw on the back of the mixer. These are usually connected and
prevent you from getting a hum.

Cheers

Subject: stanton setup, need help fast!!!

My setup is as followed:

2 stanton str8-80's
stanton Rm-3s mixer

My problem is i can't get any sound out of the mixer, i have one
connected into phono 1 and the other table connected into phono 3. the
mixer is connected to a few speakers i have in my apartment...when i
power everything on i don't get anything outta the speakers besides
some humming. I tried to research and found that i need to have the
mixer grounded to the tables (only thing i see there is the str8-80's
are internally grounded). I can connect each table to the speakers and
each one works just fine, i just can't seem to get the mixer to work
besides powering on....anyone have an idea or know whats happening?

i really want to get all this connected so i can start
practicing/learning!!

Re: stanton set up

yes i have the amp connected to the mixer, no problem there... but i
also have a home surrond sound (thats how i connected the tables to the
speakers to make sure everything was in working order).

on stanton str8-80's the turn tables are internally grounded so no need
to ground the tables to the mixer...

i just bought a numark mixer and it all works finally....i took the old
rm-3s and the cross fader is shot....
