My setup is as followed:

2 stanton str8-80's
stanton Rm-3s mixer


My problem is i can't get any sound out of the mixer, i have one
connected into phono 1 and the other table connected into phono 3. the
mixer is connected to a few speakers i have in my apartment...when i
power everything on i don't get anything outta the speakers besides
some humming. I tried to research and found that i need to have the
mixer grounded to the tables (only thing i see there is the str8-80's
are internally grounded). I can connect each table to the speakers and
each one works just fine, i just can't seem to get the mixer to work
besides powering on....anyone have an idea or know whats happening?

i really want to get all this connected so i can start
practicing/learning!!

Arh... Maybe you should connect the mixer to a Amp.

sorry guys the problem is fixed, the cross fader was shot and needed to
be replaced....i ended picking up a numark mixer to play around on. i
wasnt even getting sound through the headphone with the old one so then
why would i need to hook it up to a amp in order to make even get sound
outta the headphones?
