Stoopid question re gooseneck lamps
Ahright, I feel dumb asking, but:
I've got a portable case that I wired myself.. one feature is a BNC jack for powering a gooseneck lamp. I put in a 12V transformer for that, wired to 120V mains - but for some reason, the trannie is putting out 28V (as measured). No wiring errors, must be a mislabeled or bad transformer (I'm guessing). The question: the lamp runs very hot (that's how I found the problem).. but is it safe to run like this, until I have time to rewire? -- Jim Johnson |

No it is a fire hazard or the bulb will burn out... but there is a
possibility of fire... change the transformer to the correct one now. Re: Stoopid question re gooseneck lamps
Why not see if you can get a 24v lamp. tho the lamp base may not be made for
it. hmm.... Here's another idea. Wire two in series.
