Technics SL1200MK2 or SL-1210M5G

Looking for a good price on a pair of Technics SL1200MK2, I live in Nevada.
What's the best place to purchase? Also, would it be worth it to upgrade to
the SL-1210M5G, any one use this deck yet?

Thanks,
Dave

I played with one at the local Guitar Center here...a nice deck...but you'd be
just as fine with a lower model for on the go use whether mobile or club. I'd
use the flagship deck in my home/home studio/home dj set for the $500/$550
price they're asking for it.

What I usually do is wait till Guitar Center has some kind of deal
going on, then go into the store and haggle. You can get them to drop
the price a bit and I usually talk my way out of paying tax on it. Do
some research online to see what the best price is, but the advantage
to a regular store is the warranty.
Good luck,

Like the Mark 3 (M3D) they're not very different from the Mk II.

The Mark 5 (Where's the 4!?!?!) just has a white LED instead of a bulb, and
upto 6g anti-skate in comparison to an M3D!

Seems silly really.

4 is an odd number for the japanese. I think it's because it's spelled like
death.

Re: Technics SL1200MK2 or SL-1210M5G

From my understanding, the MK3 differs from the MK2 by recessing the
Start/Stop, and getting rid of the click at 0 of the pitch slider. The
MK5 includes these changes and adds a brake adjustment (which could be
quite useful depending on your style), and ups the pitch adjustment to
+/- 16.
