Turntable debate

I've played on most decks, impressed with the improved standtons. Gemini
seem
to keep too the same ok-ish standards... but between vestax, numark (ttx's)
and sl's ,where one has to choose based on style or affordability. Which
deck would you recommend?

I recon that for the features, looks and quality (less than Sl's) the Numark
TTX's are my preferred option. I absolutely love them. They make my Sl's
feel primitive and what's best about it is that you can afford to buy three
for the price of two Sl's. I'd gladly sacrifice safety in reputation on a
design over two decades old for state of the art technology.

regards

Q

Not for nothin' but the only correct answer in a DJ TT debate is
Technics 12's no matter the price. Anything else is pedestrian IMO.

Re: Turntable debate

I have numarks. I prefer them.

You should buy what YOU want. What YOU prefer.

Technics are the standard. They are built to last. I honestly love my
numarks and would not trade them. However, I can tell they would not last as
long as Technics.

Standard + Quality = Technics
Very Good + Features = Numark

YOUR PREFERENCE = Priceless

Don't buy decks to save money!!!

Buy decks because they are what you want.

A good bit of advice there....buy what suits you best. For what it's worth,
I'm split between the TTX and the 1200s. I still have 1200s at home, but
I've used the TTX and for battling / scratching they are the bomb. Pretty
solid and loads of features.....it's horses for courses, but I'd definitely
say that the TTX gives the 1200s a run for their money.

Have any of you tried the TTX-style CD players?? How do they compare to the
other CD decks out there?

My personal and synical view, if you have to change the tools to do the
tricks, your crap to start with..... Thus if you need to use anything other
than the features you would find on an SL to impress your just taking up
space.

A..holes like you should just eff off usenet. If you haven't got anything
useful to say, then keep it shut.

Do the SL1200s have variable brake / start speed? Can they go backwards
without modification? Do they have a straight tonearm that jumps less when
you scratch? Er....no. Can you emulate any of these features with fancy
fingerwork......probably, but why bother when there is a deck that does it
for you. Perhaps it might not have occurred to your tiny mind that having
extra features might just give a good DJ the time and space to work out more
and even better tricks......following your twisted logic, you might as well
say that there is no point using a synthesizer to make dance music because a
grand piano works just as well.....

I have to agree with Thundercat. Tech's are like tanks. I have grown
to like the Numark's but the Tech's can withstand the road.
