Usable remix tool wanted
Hi all,
I want to combine electronic beats with "natural" music like jazz, tango and so on. The music I want to remix is a bit unsteady in tempo (as it always is when music is playes "live") and I'm looking for a cool tool that can handle that and fit the music to a steady beat. I tried "Steinberg remix" that should be able to do this, but it's no good (it's not possible to work exact - not my first bad experience with Steinberg tools..) Does anyone know a better tool to do this? I'm thankful for every suggestion... Cheers, Jay |

Well, good luck with finding an automated tool. I would drop it into a mutlitrack utility, and then past the beats in by hand. It's relatively short work to do a 3-5 minute song. Just find the approximate BPM, find a beat/loop you like, stretch it to the BPM (and up and down 1 or 2 BPMS), and then paste away. p > Cheers, > Jay > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Lizak plizak@math.uwaterloo.ca Scientific Computing Lab, University of Waterloo |

Jay,
Acid Pro and Ableton Live will let you do "beat mapping"... Some work better than others. Check them out!
