using the mic............

I've got a DJM 600 and I've got my mic plugged into the sub mic at the back of
the mixer. This means that my mic controls on the front left of the mixer are
not in use and the mic goes thru channel 4 line/sub mic out.

When I play cds (via channels 2 & 3 - line) and then I use the mic as described
above it sounds fine BUT when I've got the decks on (channel 2 & 3 - phono) the
mic sqeelz like a bitch.

I know when the mic is on you shouldnt stand next to the speakers because of
interference....................

Can anyone give me some tips for using the mic cos I have a gig this saturday?

Cheers,

Re: using the mic............

What sort of mic? Sounds like feedback to me. Shitty mic's feed easier than
good ones. And, sound that way too of course. Why aren't you using the
proper mic inputs btw?

Also what are the EQ settings on the channel compared to the feedback you
are getting? You may solve the problem by trimming the offending frequency a
little.

My ultimate tip is, Get the mic out of the line/phono input and put it where
it belongs.
