Circulates as AUTOWHITE008. Aretha Franklin "Who's Zoomin Who" White ENG 12 - selection of bootleg mixes form Tony Thomas, Harold Heath and Gideon Jackson of this mid-80s Aretha classic. Each mix takes elements of the original vocal and instrumentation and reworks them into contemporary house productions with tech and tribal edges. Circulates as Zoomer, ZOOM1 Chris Isaac vs Fatboy Slim "Praise Your Wicked Game" White ENG 12 - bootleg reportedly produced by ATFC that samples the guitar line from Chris Isaac's "Wicked Game" and vocal hooks from Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" and places them over a summery, mid-tempo house beat. Includes vocal version and an instrumental without the Fatboy Slim samples. Circulates as "Northern Lightz" NORTHERN001. Mekkah vs Martin Solveig "Rockin' Race For Survival" White GER 12 - Circulates as JL006 this takes the instrumental line from Mekkah "Race For Survival" and adds a vocal hook from Solveig's "Rockin Music" to create a smooth, funky disco-tinged house production. Prince "I Would Die For You 2004" White USA 10 - DJ Sameer on the mix with this punchy high-120s BPM bootleg that uses the full original vocals and elements of the original instrumentation in the production. Circulates as PR1. The Roots "Don't Say Nuthin" White GER 12 - White label pressing that has the original urban verision on one side and a funky, chunky tech house rework from Kid Alex on the flip that integrated the full vocal into the production. Circulates as URBTR01 Shapeshifter "Lola's Theme" White ENG 12 - circulating as LOLA1, these are unreleased remixes by High Society in both vocal and dub mixes, in chunky energetic bigroom tech house style with slightly acidic synthlines and driving rhythms. Limited pressing. Sly & The Family Stone "Dance To The Music 2004" White USA 12 - Danny Krivit reworking this classic 70s track using the full vocal over a chunky discohouse orchestration. On the flip is a reworking of Sly & The Family Stone's "Love City." Temptations "Papa Was A Rolling Stone 2004" White ENG 12 - ATFC on the mix of of this classic soul track with the full original vocals worked into the dark, driving bigroom house production. Also includes a more soulful disco-tinged reworking on the flip. Circulates as PAPA001T. U2 "New Years Day 2004" White GER 12 - circulates as "Be With You" a chunky progressive take on U2's classic with elements of the original vocal and instrumental worked into the production. Circulates as FUWHITE6. House Attic "Destiny" Manifesto ENG 12 Promo - First promo of this energetic summertime house production that is one of the big "Ibiza buzz" cuts of the summer. This edition features a solid tech-house reworking by Eric Prydz that keeps the vocal minimal and cranks up the aggressive acidic synth orchestrations. Also includes the vocal-heavy dub version, an excellent summery house cut with singalong vocals and driving rhythms. Tiza B "Losing You" Deepless ENG 12 - Seductive vocal garage house production with a funky soulful female vocal, light summery house synth and live instrumentation and chunky rhythm lines. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. Olav Basoski "RTZ Tools 1" RTZ BNX 12 - Three chunky hard-disco production from one of the legends of the retro, tech-tinged house scene. Driving rhythm lines, aggressive house synth orchestrations and hooky vocal samples blended in the trademark Basoski style. Beach Bump "People From Ibiza" Gang Go GER 12 - Shuffly summertime house production with hypnotic vocal hooks of the title worked into the light, breezy disco-influenced synth lines paired with live guitar and piano flourishes and smooth rhythm patterns. Dubtribe Sound System "Nothing Is Impossible" Defected ENG 12 - Funky deeper house cut with a slightly ragga-influenced male vocal over a chuggy rhythm line and dark, seductive synth lines. Dennis Ferrer mix on the flip lightens the feel of the track with the help of a saxophone hook but keeps the dark, spiritual vibe in the rhythm line and integrates the vocal into the production flawlessly. Funk Parlor "Warehouse Muzik" Texture USA 12 - Bright, bouncy disco-tinges house production with a hooky female vocal, floating house synthwork balanced with string flourishes and a chunky rhythm line from CZR. Groove Assassin "I Know A Place" NuFaze USA 12 - Shuffly, 70s-influenced deeper vocal house cut with a soothing, flute-tinged synth orchestrations, seductive female vocal and restrained rhythm lines. Hoxton Whores "Show Me" White ENG 12 Picture - The Hoxton posse return with this hooky tech-tinged house production with catchy vocal samples, driving rhythm lines and a disco-influenced synth orchestration. Pressed on a limited edition picuture disc, this includes a vocal and dub version. Carl Kennedy "The Love You Bring" Stealth ENG 12 - Synth hooks from one of Black Box' classic tracks are the recognizable sample in this energetic bigroom production with a solid rhythm lines and a seductive female vocal intertwined with that famous synth sample. MM "Disco-Tech" White ENG 10 - more Black Box inspired house creativeness as this time hooks from Loleatta Holloway's vocal in "Ride On Time" are added to a hard-hitting Italian tech-house production with driving rhythm lines and energetic, slightly acidid synth orchestrations with an incredible buildup that adds to the drama of the track. Includes both vocal and dub versions. Phunk Investigation "Only Without You" Absolutely ITA 12 - Poppy Italian commercial house production with a male-female duo vocal over a flowing, slightly tech-influenced synth orchestration and smooth rhythm lines. On the flip, Mastica dubs out the vocal and gives the track a darker, grittier and puchier reworking. Rivera Project "Has It Come To This" Juicy USA 12 Part 1 and Part 2 - Rivera takes his trademark acidic tech house sound and mellows it out with a touch of progressive house finess. Add a solid vocal by Billy Paul Williams and this is just an excellent summertime house production, with kick but not too energetic for the hot, humid nights. Disc 1 features 2 Rivera mixes, with one more acidic than the other, and a solid progressive reworking from Dean Coleman that fits perfectly with the vocal. Disc 2 feautes a massive reworking by DJ Flex & Sandy W that is perfect for peak hour play, a darker, slightly more tribal rework from Rivera, and a mix by DJ Rooster in an acidic, almost hard trance vein. Rivera's Grooves "Funk A Faction" Subliminal USA 12 - Take the best elements of Rivera's classic "Funk-A-Tron," combine with the elements that made Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" one of 2003's most important records, and this is the result. Aggressive, in your face tech house with an electro-edge. Rivera mix on one side, Benassi on the other. Harry Romero f/Jessica Eve "What Happened" Bambossa USA 12 - Chunky, funky production with Ms "Shiny Disco Balls" on vocal over a dark, warbly, techy production full of punch and attitude. Includes a dub version on the flip. Scent "Up And Down" Positiva ENG 12 and C5 - Another one of the "Ibiza buzz" records for the summer, this is a light, summery house production in a Milky vein with a seductive, slightly retro female vocal over a funky, retro-70s influenced orchestration. Includes a vocal mix by Hott 22 and a full on disco-house dub from Kurtis Mantronix. Scumfrog "Simmer" Effin USA 12 - The Scumfrog returns with a dark, griity guitar-fueled tech house production with a deep, hypnotic male vocal paired with a chunky rhythm line in this solid production. On the flip Stephan Luke gives a deeper, dubbier, more acidic take on the production. Sia "Where I Belong" Go Beat ENG 12 - Wookie Remix - Quirky single from the vocalist whose "Drink To Get Drunk" was a big hit a couple years ago. Includes mixes for the Drum and Bass and Breakbeat community as well as an excellent deeper vocal house reworking by Wookie perfect for the smaller clubs or lounge play. Small Phat One "Number One" Funktastic ENG 12 - Phats & Small back again in their Small Phat guise with a slice of retro bigroom disco house featuring a hooky female vocal, driving rhythm lines and solid house synth orchestration. Includes both full vocal and dub versions. Smooth & J "Be Like Me" Motus USA 12 - Punchy tech house production with a rap-influenced spoken male vocal over a chunky rhythm line and aggressive, acidic synth orchestration. Remix by JJ Flores on the flip thickens out the sythn lines and adds more punch to the rhythm while paring back the vocal a bit. Streetwalkerz f/Nubia "Dawg House" Motus USA 12 - In your face hip-houser with a saucy female vocal over a funky disco-flavoured house orchestration. Includes remixes by Triple X that beef up the rhythm lines and thicken the synth line while keeping the dishy vocal the star of the production. Sucker DJs "Ecstatic" White ENG 12 - A very recognizable female vocal hook worked into a dark, driving bigroom house production for the latest Sucker DJs production. Two mixes, one which makes heavy use of the vocal sample, one that dubs it out and gives the synth line a bit more of a funk house feel. Robert Travis "Seduction" Musiq ENG 12 - For the fans of dark, bigroom tribal this week's best pick is this chunky, conga-tinged production with hypnotic vocal hooks worked into the deep, throbbing rhythm line and spacious minimalistic synth swells. Native mix on the flip is a bit brighter in sounds with a lighter rhythm line and fuller vocals. Various "Clubbers Guide To Ibiza EP" Ministry SPA 12 - Sampler of tracks from Ministry of Sound Spain's "Clubber's Guide To Ibiza" mix compilation, this EP features four solid tech house productions highlighting the chunky techy sound that seems to be defining the season this year. Of special note are the Armand van Helden dub of Despina Vandi's "Opa Opa" and Timo De Roy's "Don't Stop," an energetic tech houser with a strong commercial vocal edge. The Visionary "Higher Feeling" Release Grooves ENG 12 - D Ramirez on the mix for this dark, hypnotic production with warbled basslines, hypnotic male vocal hooks and chunky rhythm lines blended as only Ramirez knows how. On the flip Mateo Murphy provides a deeper, darker, more electro-influenced production. Jack Why f/Abigail Bailey "Gettin' High" Miss Moneypenny ENG 12 - Miss Moneypenny label releases this sun-drenched vocal house production with a seductive female vocal, light conga-influenced rhythm line and smooth, flowing house synth orchestration. Very nice poolside production. On the flip Raoul Express provides a darker, chunkier interpretation for the nighttime, in the club play. Trance & Progressive Martin Accorsi & Tim Skinner "Playing For" Bedrock ENG 12 Part 2 - Second set of remixes on this driving bigroom progressive cut feauting two more mixes, one "for Digweed" and the other "for Ramrod," and both dark, energetic and powerful productions. Alinkara "Crazy" Mystica BNX 12 - Bouncy vocal trance cut with a catchy singalong female vocal over intricate melodic orchestrations, dramatic breakdowns and solid rhythm lines. Includes an excellent full vocal remix by Arctic Quest. Beetseekers "Reflexion" Joof ENG 12 - Aggressive, slightly techy bigroom trance production from John Fleming's imprint with waves of melodic synth balanced by darker, more acidic counterlines all over a solid rhythm line. On the flip John Fleming provides a deeper, darker and even techier reworking. Estuera "Travels" Black Hole BNX 12 - Classic Dutch instrumental trance productions on Black Hole with intricate melodic orchestrations, dramatic breakdown that build to anthemic breakouts all supported by energetic rhythm lines. Kalista "Here Is The Sun" White ENG 12 - Hypnotic summertime progressive cut with a seductive male vocal over a shimmering progressive synth orchestration and light rhythm backing. Brad Carter Remix on the flip gives the track a bit more energy with a brighter synth line and chunkier rhythm while keeping the smooth vocal in the production. Lab 2 "I Miss You" Green Martian BNX 12 - Haunting trance-progressive hybrid with a female hook of the title worked into the hypnotic blend of deep melodic orchestrations and chunky rhythm lines. Also includes a purely instrumental version on the flip. B-side "Travels" is a bit darker an techier in feel. Nine Mile Men "Jorney Begins" Minimal ENG 12 - Dark brooding progressive house production with chunky rhythm lines, haunting synth swells and hypnotic vocal samples worked into the production. Menace mix on the flip is more vocal-driven with a harder, more energetic rhythm line and slightly acidic synthline that will work perfectly in the bigrooms that like those darker productions on 69 or Twisted. Morgan Page & Gregory Shiff f/Astrid Suryanto "All I Know 2004" Bedrock ENG 12 - Classic vocal progressive cut gets an update for 2004 as Hernan Cattaneo and Lucien Cochios provide new interpretations that work perfectly with Ms Suryanto's haunting vocal performance. PQM Project "Aenema" Institution USA 12 - Haunting melodic progressive cut with a restrained rhythm line and seductive female vocal blended to perfection with the light synth orchestrations. On the flip, Noel Sanger provides a darker, breakbeat influenced reworking. Nightflight "Desire" WWR GER 12 - Excellent anthemic instrumental trance production with waves of melodic synth intervowen perfectly into dramatic breakdowns, all supported by a rolling, slightly techy rhythm line. Tom Porcell mix on the flip is a bit deeper in feel with a hypnotic, slightly Eastern-influenced synth hook added to the blend. Ultrawave "Running Up That Hill" Zen GER 12 - Kate Bush's classic is the basis of this bouncy German commercial trancer, with a hooky male vocal worked into the blend of energetic rhythm lines and bright melodies. On the flip, the Seductive mix dubs out the vocal to only the chorus lines and then weaves those into a solid instrumental reworking that is deeper and darker in feel more in the line of the Dutch style. |
