Thumbs up Virtual DJ

Since I just started learning the rudiments of djing, my pal gave me a copy of the Virtual DJ. It's really helpful. Best to be starting with a virtual stuff rather than jumping to the actual board and start mixing. It is very easy to use. Anyone here have tested the software?

Never tested that but I would like to. Is it free to download or do you need a license? I have seen some that can be really expensive, and just to play around trying things out, I don't want to spend a ton doing that, esp. if I am really bad at it.

That sounds like something I would like to look into. Could you give some more information about it? What is it's best features? How much do you think it costs?

I tried Traktor and it was nothing but a headache to me. To use it properly, you have to go in and add all those stupid "markers" to the songs because it's not capable of recognizing the beats and you have to tell it where to find them in a pattern LOL. Who has 500 years to add markers to 20 gigs worth of songs??

Personally I use DSS DJ these days and I love it. It gives me more control over the music and comes with some cool effects as well.
