What size amp for mobile DJ?

Hi,

I am starting a mobile DJ business and would like to know what wattage amp
I should buy? Is there a good rule of thumb for selecting an amp output?

Re: What size amp for mobile DJ?

get as big an amp as you can get, so when you update its easy,

also a bigger amp can always be turned down !

for thoes very large functions only hire the speakers

mins a 1.3k peavey rig

Re: What size amp for mobile DJ?

It should always be at least the same as the RMS of your speakers. That it
very important. A lesser amp will start clipping earlier and damage the
speakers.

However, I send out rigs that are about 250 per side for most small
functions. A sub is added as the venue size increases. Then we start
doubling up as the venues get larger still. The 250 watt systems do up to
about 80 people with out getting a hiding. Though "at a stretch" could do
double that figure.

Re: What size amp for mobile DJ?

Thanks for the reply. Would the amp run 2 channel or bridged mono?
