Writing A Song

How do you write a song? Do you just write anything that comes to your mind? Or do you have to rhyme everything in the lyrics? Or as Eminem do, tell the story of your life?

Really, how do we make a good song?

Writing a song is just like writing a poem. Some do tell stories, some seems like they are writing a letter etc.

When I write a song it depends on my mood. Sometimes it may come out hatred, love and many more.

I haven't written a whole song yet. It’s just a poem then I let my hubby take a look for the music.

If you talk to musicians that write their own songs they often write the lyrics first and sometimes the music, it depends on if they play an instrument. Some that play instruments have pieces of a melody in their head that they fit words to. Just like a poem the words don't have to rhyme. Or they could, but have a very complex rhyme scheme.

All the music I have made so far is instrumental, and a lot of times it's influenced by what's on my mind at that particular moment or by recent events of importance to me.

All musician's have different reasons for doing things how they do, and what exactly they are trying to show in their music.

As everybody has their own personality, so as writing a song different from each other. I would just write a song just as telling a story. I don't usually stick on the rhymes but at least they have a story in it. I know some songs that just repeats a sentence and it is just repeated all along for 3 minutes. For me, that is not a song. Its a repetition of words with tune.

I always end up in a private and quiet room, whatever I feel I write, its always been that way. I have still yet to put anything down solid, but its a good hobby of mine.

In order to write on must be inprired by something, whether it's nature, events, emotions. In my country a DJ made a song because of a hurricane, it told the story or the hurricane and how people fared in it. It was in a comical, jovial way, but it hit home and evrybody was singing even those adversely affected by the hurricane.
